babystar
Hi all! If there's any Estill teachers, would you like to suggest me an exercise where I can practice Speech with cry and twang? Or at least get a stronger middle voice like Beyone's or Whitney Houston's middle voices? I want to practice on the same techniques like her: I love her voice! What I also wanted to ask is, is there a way to practice the four different qualities; Speech, cry, twang and falsetto? Like on scales or slides? Or just doin' simple sounds? I got the book "Singing and the Actor", and I'm soon having a CD to it http://www.vocalprocess.co.uk/products/products_SATA_AudioGuide.htm I know some people here prolly know I'm also using the CVT book but now I wanna try out to follow the Estill-method instead for a while, since I don't feel enough success with CVT (CVT is not bad I like it I learned better support because of the CVT!!!) I really hope you can help me! / Claudia.

Sykotix
I'm not sure it's a good idea to buy CVT second hand. To access the audio samples online, you need to type in a code that's in the book, and register it to your account. The trouble is, I think these codes are unique, so you won't be able to access the samples. Having a singing book with no audio is like having a car with no wheels. The 1st edition comes with a CD instead, but I'd definitely recommend getting the 2nd one. There are far more samples, including a male and female one for each reference in the book.
