I heard that the Swallowing muscles (The muscles under your jaw), must be soft all the time!

When I sing, they're kinda tensed all the time, especially on higher notes. Does it mean I'm constricting?

This video helped me:

I just wonder, does it really have to be soft all the time?

I hope you can help me!

Claudia: It does not mean you are constricting, but it does mean you likely have too much tension in the muscles under your tongue, more than you need.

If it's tense or in pain it can mean a build up of acid. Just gently massage the area which will disperse the acid. You might get a sour taste in your mouth afterwards but that's normal.

hope that helps :)
