ronws
Awesome. Thanks for finding that, Martin. When I would do this song, it was Ted's original in the movie that would feed my sub-text. And he's still got it.

Nalyd
I find it interesting that it is the lower/middle part of his voice that seems to have weakened. At least that is how it seems to me when I compare it to this version: '> www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_mJgVwQ3Qw
Martin H
@Nalyd Weakened? Well, maybe he concentrated more on the higher notes?
ronws
I find it interesting that it is the lower/middle part of his voice that seems to have weakened. At least that is how it seems to me when I compare it to this version: '> That was from the soundtrack, which was written by Rice and Weber and professionally produced for movie and album. and Ted was in his 20's then. He was a drummer from west Texas who could sing and decided to get into acting. Rice and Webers' first choice for this role was Ian Gillan, based on a pre-release hearing of "Child in Time." But obligations involving Deep Purple recording and performing engagements did not allow time to make a movie. But I am glad they chose Ted. And so he does it a little differently in his 70's. I don't see a problem with it. I hope I am singing that well at his age, which is not as far away as I would like.
