akarawd
Hey all, I did this vocal cover (well , the whole thing is a cover) of WASP's Wild Child. '> Let me know what you think of the vocals Thanks, Than
slstone
Nice to see somebody covering some good ole Blackie Lawless. He never got much credit as a vocalist, either.
KillerKu
This is good. I'm not familiar with the original song, but I've come to like your style of aggressive vocals. There is a warmth to them lacking in a lot of metal genres. At first it was too much and you felt distant, but I feel like you're getting a better balance now. The singing overall is really well done. But as someone that favors soul over metal, some of that lower mid warmth in your voice really grabs my ears.
ronws
Awesome, Thanos. And it sounds a lot like the original. And Blackie used to get crap for being a good businessman. His mentor in that was none other than Gene Simmons. How would I know that? I read the history, as told by another, of WASP. Like him, hate him, the guy could write a song and take care of business.
akarawd
Slstone, thanks for your comment. I thought I was nuts to even think about it but before I started recording the cover I had jut put the song on and started singing (using this type of voice that you hear) and it sounded cool in the room so I gained some confidence and went ahead with it. KillerKu, it's important to me to read your comment because you talk about warmth which I always fear this particular type of voice lacks. It tends to be disconnected from the lower part of the voice. I am with a terrible chest infection now and have no voice left but when my health is back I will keep on working on connecting this higher part to the lower one. Thanks again. Ron! Awesome to read that it sounds like the original… I am not too sure it does (I love his voice to death) but it's an honour! Cheers! Than
