DreamingBoost
Hello. I have done what this guy says in this video: for a while. And now I just feel like it is too much grit in my voice, if I try to sing a low note with rasp in my voice it doesn't sound that low as it should be . PS: I am 16. Jarom
back in the day when I was first learning how to sing I followed this guys advice and ended up hurting my voice. What this guys says is right and he isn't giving you false information but, don't even attempt it until you can fully bridge and connect through your registers. Jabroni
You should only add grit/distortion after you have developed clean head and chest tones, like what Jarom said above.

DreamingBoost
You will damage your voice if you apply that rasp to your normal vocal chords. But I finally realised why I had "that much" grit in my voice. While I was singing with rasp, I was using my false chords. (Watch this video: ). And after a few months I have 0 damage. Maybe that's why James lost his grit, maybe he applied that rasp to his normal vocal chords. What do you think guys ?
