TK the Singer
Hey, TMV-- What products, available commonly at grocery- and drug-stores- and herbal shoppes- do you recommend for vocal health? These can be anything from sprays/lozenges, to teas, to ingredients for homemade remedies. There's also a new shop with a certified herbalist in town- teas, herbs, aromas if those are applicable, mortar/pestle.

Lauren Bateman
I've used Alcolol in the past for when I'm sick and need to perform. More for decongesting nasal passages but it's clutch for me when I'm not feeling well.
Administrator Robert Lunte Posted February 28, 2015 Administrator Share Posted February 28, 2015 My suggestion is just something you can do with what might be in your pantry, right now. What am I missing here? The suggestions in this forum are all helpful and come from people that have experience in such matters. I encourage you to explore all solutions toward vocal health. One such solution is the tea below I developed for singers. It is not the only remedy to help heal and soothe the voice for singing, it is but one of many. Thank you for your time and consideration. Administrator Robert Lunte Posted February 28, 2015 Administrator Share Posted February 28, 2015 Oh for crying out loud Ron... don't you dare remove your post... I was not offended what so ever! You misinterpreted my written script ... Its sarcasm and simply being a bit "noisy" about it... my intent is all in good fun...
ronws
Nope, gone forever. As a child, I had severe food allergies and this is the one remedy the doctor would allow my family to give me and it is something that could be used by a person while they wait for their singer teas to ship halfway around the world. I will do my best to quit spreading my tales of treating the human as a garbage disposal. I may lose my moderator rating but hopefully I can continue to be a member but I will try to post less. TK the Singer
Singer's Tea... click the link on the front of the forum... or CLICK HERE >>> it is a tea for singers that I invented... no Joke... its great! cool beans. well, cool leaves Definitely something I can get behind. It's gotta be better than ingesting an untargeted blend that does some of what you want and a whole bunch of other things that you don't want or are inconsequential I found the Vocal Gear Amazon store at the bottom of SingersTea.com. Vocal-Eze spray was in there, and that's supposed to be legit, too. Paramore's singer was pretty open about her vocal health- more, her lack thereof- after she had to cancel shows and stuff... mainly due to prior harmful technique, rumor has it, but I know her new stamina while they've been taking on the world is something she attributes to holistic vocal health, and I trusted her endorsement of Vocal-EzeI've used Alcolol in the past for when I'm sick and need to perform. More for decongesting nasal passages but it's clutch for me when I'm not feeling well. I've never heard of that. In desperation in high school, if my choir had a performance and my voice was shot, (DO NOT TRY) I'd melt a lozenge, mix the goop in hot water, let it cool, and use a dropper down my nose. I know soothing those places oral intake can't hit helps me, so I'm glad there's something specifically nasal Thanks, Lauren ^__^Nope, gone forever. Ah, yea, I got a copy of the Gone Forever post in my email, and your and Rob's input are duly noted. I do like the idea of something to tie myself over in case life happens, and I know at least your specific recommendation isn't harmful. The pantry thing- no- but I get the spirit of what you're getting at
Administrator Robert Lunte Posted March 1, 2015 Administrator Share Posted March 1, 2015 Nope, gone forever. Ron, I am sorry I hurt your feelings. My communication was not meant to belittle your idea what so ever. I wouldn't knowingly do that to any member, especially a moderator and a long standing member like you. If I did offend you regardless, due to my brash communications from time to time, then let it known that I hereby apologize to you in public for my communication that seemingly so offended you. Now then, will you please post your remedy on here again. We ALL want to have it, including me. If you don't care for my communication, that is perfectly your prerogative and I'll do what I can to mend that behind the scense, but to remove your remedy really only accomplishes the following: 1). To remove your post only gives "victory" to my misguided tone of voice. Deleting your post is the LAST thing you should do. You should protest against my "snarky" communication and stand for what is right, stand for education, stand for "Ron", stand for moderator's rights, stand for members rights to post what they want... stand for all of man kind and the pursuit of knowledge... Don't let me bully you... push back.. our friendship gives you that right. 2). Educating and reaching others with your knowledge is the prime directive. Taking your post down prevents the rest of the world that wants to see your information from being educated by it. Don't let bullshit noise from a terse post I made that didn't sit too well with you, cloud what is really most important. Educating the public with your contribution. On this incident between you and me, righteousness resides in he who is trying to educate... he who is making "noise" can go "sit on it". Nothing overrides education. 3). As a moderator, you should hold the line on certain issues. And if my tone was not an effective communication, you can call me out on it and show class, and leadership. One reason why you are a moderator is because you are a leader and will stand for what's right, and I expect to be held to the same standards as anyone. There would of been nothing wrong with replying, "... I don't like your tone Robert... can you try again?"... and I would of stepped up and tried again. Thats fine! Believe me, my ego is not so big that I can't take accountability for making a mistake and correcting myself. I really don't have a problem with that... This may sound funny, but its factually true.. I'm real good at apologizing, it is something I have had a lot of practice with... Bro... I would NEVER ban you from this forum for calling me out if I was snarky in a post. I can't imagine any reason why I would ever ban you Ron... from this forum. I think you underestimate your stature here and the solid ground you stand on. Anyways, thats how I see it... ronws
For those who do not yet have all the singer's teas that can be accessed from here, you could have in your pantry or fruit bowl something to get you by. Tea, (I don't know if it makes a difference being de-caffeinated or not) honey (grown local to you, as it will contain allergens that allow your body to adjust its immune system) and lemon. Tea, because it is light and a diuretic, than can raise metabolism. Basically, you get over a malady such as a cold sooner by intaking fluids because you run it through your system faster. There is no cure, you just get through the symptoms faster. Lemon, because it is acidic and will help cut and get rid of phlegm. Honey, for the immune system benefits and something of a "throat coat" action, and it is sweet, which usually tastes good to most people.
