SomeRandomDude
Here's my story: I've been singing a couple of hours a day for the last 10 years or so. I've never had any vocal training or anything like that, I've just been singing on my own brute force style and have been trying to mass a decent vocal sound. However, the last few weeks I've been thinking of getting professional vocal training from a vocal coach to try and really... "make it"? Something like that. And by "make it" I mean have a youtube-account with like 5-10K subscribers. Not really make a living off of it (even though of course that would be awesome, but let's be real). But before I shell a bunch of money on a professional vocal coach, I'd like to hear from people whether I'm a least somewhat in the ballpark or not. So, I've recorded a 5 second clip of me singing into my mobile phone without having warmed up my voice first. I did daily vocal exercises like 5 year ago but gave it up after a few weeks because I simply didn't believe in myself. So, what I'd like to know isn't really whether or not I'm good enough right now, since I know I'm not. What I'd like to know is whether or not I COULD be good enough in a few years if I got professional vocal training on a regular basis and practiced every day for a few years. Or is this simply just not for me?Anyway, here's a few seconds from the song Neon by John Mayer:
TMV World Legacy Member Javastorm Posted July 31, 2015 TMV World Legacy Member Share Posted July 31, 2015 5 seconds isn't really enough to show anyone enough information about your voice and its current state. From what I can hear, not knowing the song, you have a nice tone and know about phrasing. Also, since I'm the first one responding, please upload a pic for your avatar, it's just a general rule here. Feel free to upload something longer, doesn't have to be a full song. "The journey in between what you once were and who you are now becoming is where the dance of life really takes place." -B.
