There are many for many purposes. Franco Tenelli has a wonderful series on Appoggio breathing.

One of the best is learning to get the body (and mind) to gain control of speed of inhalation and exhalation.

Inhale for 4 seconds, suspend the breath for 4 seconds, exhale for 4 seconds.

Inhale for 5 seconds, suspend the breath for 5 seconds, exhale for 5 seconds.

Inhale for 6 seconds, suspend the breath for 5 seconds, exhale for 6 seconds...etc.

work up to 20 seconds or as time goes on as much as 30 seconds or more.

Time it so you aren't out of time too quickly or have time left over.

Hi Lisa, welcome to our community.

Sorry to be so brief and to the point here... but I have gobs of stuff to do... I wanted to let you know that my training program, "The Four Pillars of Singing", has some really great strength building exercises for singing built into it. It is found in the complete system or the special warm-up package I put together for members like you here at TMV World. Click here to check it out... Thanks for your interest ahead of time.

And BTW... Bob's advise above is also great advise... you should try it. Bob is very experienced member in here and knows technique well.
