^^^ What Ron said. :/

That song is freakin' amazing! Who ARE you?? :o
-
Same thing as "scooping"? :/
-
I concur with my colleagues above. :/

Thanks Ron, this was recorded a few years ago before I knew much about brightness. I must say I've never been much of a Lou Reed fan though.

I think this is my first critique-me post. In another thread (Artist Development) TMV member Elijah Lucian was looking for vocals to work up into something; I sent him this song I wrote about hiking to Waimoku Falls in Maui: http://www.reverbnation.com/play_now/song_6077346. (I put the conch shell on the same channel as the lead to conserve tracks.)

Wow that's really good! I like how you worked a lot of different timbres in there.
-
I'm liking this thread, now I wanna twang too. :o

Sounded pretty good to me. :| Music reminded me of Rufus Wainwright.

I thought it sounded pretty good. I'm not familiar with the original song; it reminded me a bit of Arabic music. The lowest part did sound toughest for you.

In classical singing, the way this 'leading' is accomplished is by being sure that the vowel sound starts as written. If there is a consonant preceeding the vowel, its put 'before the beat'.
Interesting. :/

I don't think that would be wasting your time at all. I listened to "Slide." You've got the chops. But I'd like to hear more force behind it. :/

Thanks I will look up that bass stuff. I do still have some trouble deciphering the technical aspects though I've read up a lot and taken a few lessons. And thanks for the lyrical encouragement, not many who appreciate that these days.
Yeah Lou Gramm . . . scary stuff.

Ah thanks for listening . . . some great singers around here huh? I have spent so much effort working on my upper range that I am lost in the lower register. I think the low notes are still down there somewhere.

If it's humble homemade demos you're looking for . . .

p.s. I'm all about the lyrics, singing has not come easily. :|
