I really love this song and no one will ever sing is awesomely as Heart but here's what I have recorded thus far. That high chorus is something I still need a lot of work on to be able to keep on pitch. I'm going to make a point of doing breathing exercises before I attempt to sing anything. I always get inspired to record myself but rarely if ever warm up properly first which shows in the recordings.

Yeah I'd say breath definitely is a factor - I felt very short of breath during the verses - I don't think I did any type of breathing exercise before recording these vocals. I'm really looking forward to getting this new mic and then I'll warm up and 'exercise' properly before recording and see how much different it sounds!

Yeah I see what you mean. Interestingly the verse notes are bang in the middle of my range so should be the most comfortable. I think it's maybe because I'm trying to sing quiet and I haven't quite got the control yet. The high F in the chorus is only a tone away from the top note I can hit without going falsetto

Not blaming the mic but for info these vox are just recording into a dynamic mic. I have ordered a condenser mic and pop shield so I will be interested to hear the difference when that arrives!

Thanks for checking it out and for your feedback! I have a question though - what does "centred" mean? I haven't come across that term in my short career. The high parts were where i felt least comfortable singing in this song but I feel with coaching I can get them sounding really powerful.
