Yeah, mate. The low stuff comes a lot more naturally to me but everything except the drums is me.

Hey guys,
Been getting into stacks of funk lately and have written and album worth of stuff that I will be progressively recording and releasing track-by-track.
Be interested in your thoughts.

Yes, told you it would suit you! GREAT WORK!

I have a deviated septum from being king hit (punched without any notice) in the nose when Sodom played here in Sydney. One of my friends passed out in the moshpit so I tried to pick him up. Apparently some jealous dude with no self confidence lined me up and punched me in the face because I brushed past his girlfriend when picking up my friend. Yeah, it's much harder to do nose breathing and get deep breaths like that so you better get your mouth breathing down. I still think my singing has turned out alright and I would not say that it should be a really big issue for you. You have to learn your body when singing and what affects it and what you don't have to start with. As you learn and progress your deviation will not even be something you notice on a regular basis.

Cool as hell but back off on the grit as frequently.
Can you sing something cleaner? You probably hate your tone because you don't hear it enough. Everyone's like that at first if they ain't a narcissist.

Poor enunciation is what makes a Radiohead cover. Thom sounds like he is singing through a sock diction wise.

I know it's not your thread but I let Maxy know he was ripping it too.
Doesn't matter if people post on other people too if it's done in a friendly and unpompous manner, I am sure he will not be offended. This is a community of contributions. I guess it could come off rude though.

Enander, your grit is insane, man!
-
Sing that track ^ be very keen to hear your voice do it.
Very Brucey/Dio. Nice, man!
Keep on it and record some originals! Also, try to automate your delay more so it's not there all the time at that level. :)

It's good that you're not forcing it!
You just need to get a bit more compression at E4-F4 and really cut back your air and you'll be getting a nice voice up there.
-
I'm fairly certain that your range would be F2 to F5 not F3 to F6 - unless you are a ridiculously high tenor.
-
Chris, that's the best voice I've heard on the forum so far! Great work!
-
Cheers for the kind words. The way I pronounce vowels down there is my style I guess, maybe something to look at. I think Ville Valo actually has one of the best voices for this range out of anyone I'd heard so for me, it doesn't obviously sounds as good as him but it at least fits.

Hey Keith,
I don't know if I have the session file for it anymore. I record all my own backings as if I were recording an actual cover.
Thanks, Validar. I love trying to channel some of the dark Steele energy. His voice though I can definitely feel is a lot deeper than mine and I have to lower the larynx a lot to get these sounds.

Thanks for the nice comments, guys. I hope to hear some more people having a go at Type O for working those uber lows. October Rust is a spellbinding album with some of the strongest lows I have heard.
If you guys look on youtube, you'll find some songs by my band Hemina also!

I did this one as well because I loved the song. Another lowey that I did a little bit before my Type O cover, I will hopefully give a Queensryche song a go soon.

This is a cover a did a while back in tribute to one of my (slain) vocal heroes.
I think it's important for people to be focusing on the low and middle parts of their voice instead of high screams always so this is one I enjoyed singing. The distorted bass was also fun as hell to play.

Would like to hear this with better production.

Yours sounds the best so far, man. The top belted note was a bit wayward though. I like that you sung the 'oooos' though.
-
^That's the isolated vocal track from the original. Very cool to study. Great to hear such well intonated runs. These runs make the verses in my opinion.
The screams are very powerful but sound very disconnected from the verses (a real reinforced falsetto sound).

I think a new track for this project will come out monthly.
