More than likely, I got the notes wrong. Sorry to short-change you. No offense meant.
What an awesome range. You realize, of course, as you build some confidence, you really need to do a cover of "Silent Lucidity." I can't do the low notes in that song but I still want to do it, even it is to provide comedy relief for others. Hey, I'm a giver!
Hey Ronws, No offence taken especially, since I have no idea if I am correct. If you do get a chance to try with your guitar, i would be very glad to hear what you really think my range is.
Regarding Silent Lucidity. I gotta listen to it. Sorry, not really familiar with that genre of music although I wouldn't mind singing some good songs no matter what the style!
Also, anyone else ? Am I right, or am I blowing smoke up my ass?
Thanks

Hi Lokalamuka,
I am no way an expert, but I do hear potential in your voice. Sounds like you are young as well, so its most definitely the time to start vocal training. I am sure you will hear a way more professional review from the other guys on the forum.
Good luck!

Hey Ron!
Thanks for your review. Yes, I am so very pumped to get some results from the program. I am concentrating on the program almost 14 hours a day. Between reading, videos, exercises...
Regarding the range:
I was under the assumption it was 3 3/4 as I do the first octave and the last note of the first octave i do again when i start the next octave, and so on with the third. So it sounds like do-re-mi-fa-sol-la-si-do, do-re-me-fa-sol-la-si-do-do-re-mi-fa-sol-la-si-do-do-re-mi-fa.
Again, dont know what note I started it. I am thinking its c#2, which means c#2-c#3 is one octave, c#3-c#4 is two octaves, c#4-c#5 is is three octaves, and four more notes brings it to F#5 no? Am I counting it wrong? I might have gotten the notes wrong though.. Would love some clarification
Thanks

Hey Guys.
I have just embarked on The four pillars of singing 2.0 journey, and would like to determine what my current vocal range is. Can you please help me determine that?
Thanks guys, and looking forward to hearing from you.

Once you own the content you can burn your own dvds if you want to... its a lot of information though, it might just be easier to get the hard copy with the discs.
Hey Rob.
Thanks for your amazing support. Looking forward to our first lessons sometime in the near future.

Hey Guys.
Whoever purchased the digital version. Can you burn the dads so that you can keep a hard copy as well or it pretty much needs to stay on my HD?

Hey Breakin!
First of all let me tell you that I realy liked your voice. Very marketable. The only issue I saw is the high notes which you sing in falsetto. I am no expert but in my opinion you need to Learn to access your head and mix register. But other than that I see a huge potential bro!
Keep it up! Would love to hear it with a full headvoice.

Save up for it bro. Works miracles i swear
Only got it for about a few weeks and boom. I think im not sure but I think I understand bridging a bit now
Start saving
I dunno if im supposed to say this here but robert said there is going to be a pillars 2.5 or 3.0
Shooting for xmas and they usually have promos during the xmas holidays!
So save up bro! SAVE UP!
When you say Promotion, you mean less than $200? ;)

No, I am one of the broke singers on this forum. I use Seth Rigg's Singing for the stars program... I wish I could afford Robert's program. I only hear good things about it.

When you say book. How many pages is this book?

Hey Guys.. Wow!!! Thanks for the compliments and your host opinion!
Owen: I agree with you 100%, I too hate that auto tune. These songs will have to be-remixed to remove that auto tune effect. Regarding the vowels, you are absolutely right. I have never dwelled into modifying the vowels. I should try that, but how do I know which ones are closed vowels?
Ronws: Wow dude. Thank you so much for your compliments. Journey? Really? Funny thing about "Thank you" It not a gospel song. It was written as a thank you to my parents for everything they have done for me. You will understand why i use the term guardians in the sky when you know my profession is a pilot
Tommy: Thanks! The sentence you were referring to is "You have given me everything you can". Dont know how "you gave me all you had" would fit with the melody. Yes, i wrote the lyrics and music, and you are absolutely right regarding that first beat. Bugs the crap out of me The word "religion" sounds a bit offbeat to me.. And I love nit picking! I want perfection!
Thanks,

Hey Guys.
The following are 3 songs I recorded recently. I would love to get some input, critique, and any tips you've got on my voice, my singing technique, my song writing, and anything else you might want to add.

Jugulator,
I love your voice. Very commercial yet unique!!
Did you use any sort of program or you are a naturally born singer?

That would be awesome. I have the motivation to succeed, and from what I learned in life, that if you have the motivation, anything is achievable.
I wish I had the funds to spend on the four pillars. For now I stick to Seth's Singing for the stars I do feel improvement, but as you see, I come here to get answers to questions I have
Thanks!

Hey Owen.
Thanks for the post.
That is exactly what I think. Does that mean Its not achievable to get a full voice where It changed to Falsetto?
-
Holy Molly! Love it!
It has a Dream Theater vibe!
Do you play any instruments on there too?

I checked it with my guitar, in standard tuning. F2 to F5, though with many notes missing in between. But still, spanning 3 octaves is a good place to start. In fact, just iron that out and you can sing pretty much any song ever written.
Compression, meaning mainly more vocal fold adduction or less air in the tone. And don't confuse air in the tone with the air that you press to get the higher notes. That's two different things.
But you are off to a good start and it may not take you as long to smooth your "rough" spots as it might others.
Wow.
I must tell you, after 6 days of SLS exercises, I had to do a recording session of 2 songs. Usually, my voice would crack out on me and give me a hard time half way through the session, but yesterday I was able to complete 1.5 sessions! Thats about 6 hours of intense singing without getting any indication that I need to stop. THis is amazing! How more productive!
I really hope I can smooth my rough spots. Don't take if it takes a while either. I just want to get the most out of my vocals.
Ill post the songs once they are mixed and mastered so you can hear.
Back to doing some SLS before todays recording session.
Cheers!

It's good that you're not forcing it!
You just need to get a bit more compression at E4-F4 and really cut back your air and you'll be getting a nice voice up there.
You say that as a joke?
I feel I am forcing it at the end.
Regarding the breath support. If i cut the air pressure, i loose the voice. It seems I dont put enough air. This is one thing that very frustrates me as I have no idea whether I should add more air, or use less air....
When you say get more compression at E4-F4 you mean?
Thanks

voc - that sounds very good. Keep up the good work.
The system we use here is C4=Middle C, and C5 would be the High Tenor C. C6 is Soprano high C. From hearing your voice I would guess that when you say F3, we would consider that F2.
Seems like you are right. So its F2 to F5. Still I think its falsetto at the highs. But would love to hear what you think.
Thanks

Hey Guys. I think you are right, and I do think I am in falsetto up there. Happens automatically though.
Here is a sound link of me playing the piano note by note while singing with it. I think I started as you said in F2 and ended up in F5. Its really confusing all these notes.
Here is a demonstration:
THanks!

Dude! Go for it!
If singing is your passion, go for it!
I am now 35. Although I do have some singing background, I havent really sung for more than 10 years, and just recently got back to it with SLS. I feel some improvement, but then again its only been 6 days
Wish you the best of luck! If you like it, and if you want it, you will get it!
Please listen and critique

Garage band is not bad for recording. It has some awesome features for vocals. I use it while doing vocalizes, and recording them to keep track of my progress.
