  1. I have this project that I have to have finished by tomorrow morning, and I'd love to hear your opinions on these tracks, and whether they're good.  I need to pick 2 of them to use, so if you like them, I'd love to hear which 2 you think I should use.  Thank you in advance!!!

    1. You Think You Know Somebody (Hunter Hayes)

    2. Twisted (Carrie Underwood)

    3. Have A Nice Day (Bon Jovi)

    4. Wanted (Hunter Hayes)

  2. Thank you!  I wasn't sure.  It always sounds to me like I'm out of tune even though I'm not

Funny that your sound cloud is Takamine, a brand of guitar. The guitar in the recording sounds like it is clipping the mic. That little buzzy sound.

    There's a reason for that.  :)

Is it clipping?  I thought the interface showed it being green the whole time, but maybe I need to turn the gain down a bit more.

  3. Sounds pretty good! I actually think it might help you if you relax a bit. I could be wrong, but to me, you sound very controlled - which is good - but maybe just loosening up a bit when you sing would make a difference? Not sure, but I do know that it helps me, especially with Bon Jovi songs. For me, the more I try to sound good, the less good it sounds. ;) I also do agree with the echo thing, but other than that, it sounds pretty good. :)

  4. Aw, thanks, guys! :)

Haha I stopped before the last chorus because I'm pretty sure it wouldn't sound anything like it's supposed to. ;) The highest notes I did do were a challenge already. Those notes are basically the top of my chest voice range. Honestly, I think I've sung that song.... twice? But I've listened to it like 2,000,000 times. And I do have the instrumental version (not the crappy karaoke-style things, but the actual song without Jon's voice) but I don't know how to do that. I use my computer to record right now, and if I played the song without headphones it would drown me out. I was singing along with the song on headphones in this particular one, but I could still hear me fine. I did 3 others but I think this one was the best.

And yeah, I probably was smiling, at least somewhat. :) I enjoy singing along with Jon. Haven't met him yet, so it's the best I can do for now...

Do you want me to edit in the instrumental track over my voice to hear both?

edit: One last thing. Is there anyone that comes to mind as sounding similar to my voice in some way? Not to compare, since everyone is unique, but maybe it'd give me some good ideas of songs to cover that would suit my voice well.

  5. Thanks :)

Michael Jackson? Interesting. That's also kind of ironic as I've really never been much of a MJ fan. Just not really my style. The only other comparison I've had so far was someone said I have a little bit of a rasp that kind of reminds them of Stevie Nicks. But it's definitely interesting to see the kind of artists that I remind people of that I never would have guessed.

Not sure how much influence any particular artists have on my sound, but the main artists I listen to or used to listen to are people like Bon Jovi (biggest one), Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney, Pat Benatar, Heart, and then most of the classic rock/hard rock guys from the 70's to 80's.

And thank you for sharing your opinion!! I appreciate it! :)

  6. I'm curious what you guys think of my singing. This is a clip of my vocal cover of "Miracle" by Jon Bon Jovi.

This honestly is the first time I've ever recorded myself, and one of the first times I've ever sang in front of anyone, and all things considering, I actually think it's pretty decent. But I'd like your thoughts.

    Thanks! :)
