AAA's Male Vocalists

Hey, I'm completely new to this forum and I would look to expand my range and my voice's ability.

At the moment I am trying to sing 'Miss You' which is a J pop song by AAA. I'm having some trouble as the males singers of AAA seem to sing so high. The thing that makes me confused is that they do it with absolutely no strain and can do it live comfortably. Have they just got really high voices naturally or is it a strengthened falsetto they are singing it in? If it is then how do they have so much control over it? I'm worried about pushing my voice to hard and damaging it.

Another thing to note is that my voice finished breaking about 3 months ago and I am getting better but still don't have complete control.

Thank you I appreciate any comments!

Hey Evan. If you want some feedback on your singing, you should post a recording of yourself over in the "Review My Singing" section:

http://www.themodernvocalistworld.com/forum/14-review-my-singing/

It costs, but having vocal coaches and experts take time to write you a review is well worth it.

As for AAA, they aren't singing in falsetto, but rather a connected full voice, belt range, "mixed" resonance. That's comes more easily when you learn to add in your TA mucles in your ehad voice, and tune the formant (shade or narrow the vowels) to support the notes more effortlessly. Keep at it. You'll ifnd a lot of help here, especially through the owner, Robert Lunte's course and/or videos.

This can be one of two things.  They have a naturally high voice or it is "earned" range, meaning they worked on and developed their voice (over time) to be able to consistently sing in this key.

As Draven suggested, send a sample for someone to listen to you. They can easily assess whether or not you are at a place in your vocal development where you can do a song like this.  You have to be realistic in terms of your current capability.  These notes may or may not be available in your voice...yet.

Also, try to find truly LIVE performances of them, what I call reduce the singers to lowest terms.  I know Nissy (from quick research) had been singing many years and they are older than they appear.
