Let's see if this works better

June 2010 http://www.singsnap.com/snap/r/ccf0b956

I think I messed up when I just copied the link to this area. So hopefully these work now.

Thanks for listening!

I only listened to the later recording because that's what counts, today.

A well done song, with a strong story-telling libretto. And written from every day experience. And sung in a range that just about everyone can match. A simple hook. This would be a smash hit. And a crossover hit, between country and easy pop. You should market this. It might need some eq tweaks. A little more bass end. You have a warm voice with a slight hint of husky rasp. Sort of like Bonnie Raitt, even though you sound different from her. And a slightly bass - "ier" eq might bring that through. And you did a pretty good job matching the harmony, especially the counterpoint timing, which is difficult.

This is just a stylistic preference and not a technical problem or a singing problem. I would have loved a louder high note, which is just a matter of a little more breath support. You didn't do anything wrong and your pitch was good. But, ala, Bonnie Raitt, I was thinking that high note could have really come through with a little more blast. As I said, it's just a style thing. I think you did great.

Thank you so much for your critique. I do appreciate your input. I do wish that sometime I will have the opportunity to "market" my voice. I plan on continuing to practice my voice and hopefully God willing a time will come to be able to perform at differnt venues.

Thanks again, I will record some more in the near future and post here for some good insight.

:D

Just remember the maxim that God helps those who help themselves. They say that when one door closes, God opens another door. But He can't make you walk through it. That's on you. So, while accepting the will of God, don't fail to walk through a door He opens for you. Here's a door. You have a great voice. So market the song. It might even get some attention on contemporary christian charts. But only if it's out there for people to hear. Barring a split the red sea miracle, you are going to need to send your stuff out to record companies. Churches. You could be singing at weddings, etc. And even though it might be a den of iniquity, try some karaoke places, to get the experience of being in front of strangers. Granted, half of them might be drunk, but your words could sink in, anyway. Have faith that what you are doing is right. So many people pray to God. Not enough people listen to the answer.

I totally understand on the doors that God opens. And that I have the choice of walking through or not. But right now I have no way to market, recording studio nor money to do so.

I have used karoke to promote my voice. And most karoke Dj's have appreciated my talent.

I am in the process of finding what I need to promote myself more in my community. I am not aware of anyone here that has the ability to help me record demos.

The concerts are a starting point. I can always go up from there.

Thanks for your advice. And I am not taking it lightly.

Thank you,

Kathy
