Hey All!

It's been yonks since I've posted in these forums - I'll get around a few posts today and do some critiques, can't wait to see what you've all been getting out :)

Check out my cover of 'Domino' - it's an acoustic version recorded live - we used a very nice little Behringer set up in the middle of the room, different setup to how I'm used to recording but I think it worked okay.

Let me know what you think!

Oh yeah - didn't talk about what techniques I used!

If you check out the last chorus, I played around with some slight rock distortion on the higher notes. I've been working on this for a while now, I posted here a while back asking tips for a rockier tone and I think I'm finally starting to get the hand of giving my voice a little 'edge' without damaging it.

I also use a few melisma runs - I tried to keep them short just to add a little 'polish' the the ends of phrases. This is something else I want to work harder to really crisp up.

My throat sounds a little constricted because I was kind of playing around with a different, harder tone. I'm not sure I'm happy with this, I prefer the more open, free vowel sound used in some of the other tunes on my Soundcloud.

Anyway I'd love to know what you guys think about the result...

What can I say except that sounded great. I've never been into Jazz. I don't mean I don't like it, I only mean I've never listened so know little about it. Nice job :)
