  1. I'm a geriatric nurse and I love to play at work for my patients. They really dig the old bluesy stuff. So i learned this song and it's a hit. Any tips on how to improve it or make it flow a little better? Travis
  2. Thank you both very much. Check out my youtube channel for some other various songs. I really love older music as I was raised by my grandmother and grew up listening to nothing but the classics. If you have any suggestions for me to cover, or any questions please feel free to contact me via this website, my youtube channel, or find me on facebook. Thanks again for listening, and Thank you, Tommy for the advice. I will try to work on consistency. Travis Rainbolt
  3. Hey. This is my rendition of man in the mirror. I hope you enjoy it and have some good tips and critiquing ready. Thank you for watching. P.S. I enabled High Definition on this one, so you can watch it in 1080p If you so choose. - Travis -
  4. Oh. I don't use any type of editing software or devices. Just a little video camera with compression microphones built in. I never really got into editing or gadgets. Just me and the keyboard.
  5. Be brutally honest... Tell me what I need to work on. Thanks for watching... http://youtu.be/f6x7kuoQL7E
  6. Thanks. I really plan on remaking this one. It has potential, but that was just a bad run. Thanks for watching, guys. Travis
  7. My equipment has been fighting me, but I attemtped this one. I personally love the voice crack near the end. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGoNLEqoEfo
  8. Yeah. There are tons of videos on youtube with tracks in the style of famous singers/songwriters that have the vocals removed. I then just use a website online to convert the video into an mp3. Hope that helps. Travis
  9. Yeah. I just got Magix Music Maker 16. It has realtime audio effects where I can adjust while listening to the track. That's what helped me out the most. And it has a really easy to use interface for it's effects and functions. Thanks for all the input and feedback, I really appreciate it. I'll keep tweaking and adjusting and post something new as soon as I get it nearly perfect. :D
  10. I just got some new software to edit my audio. I used some mild compression and reverb on this one. See what you think. I am brand new to this, so I'm not exactly sure what I am doing, but I am in the process of learning. Travis http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5mk0icPNon4
  11. Thanks for your help, Quincy. I really appreciate it. Firebox you say? I got some kind of TASCAM midi interface. It's alright, but it's very strait forward. Nothing to really "tweak". I guess I could just look for an audio editing program to try and get some equalization. _Travis_
  12. I plan on it yes. I don't know if my version can help too much. lol. I am trying these days to get closer to the originality of the song, instead of venturing off on my own. It comes from growing up as a kid and "remaking" all the music i heard to fit my own flavor and style. It adds flair sometimes, and people like a twist, but a good mimic isn't a mimic until he can recreate with a little more.. precision. Lol
  13. Actually, I'm using some type of cheaper midi interface. It doesn't have any equalization options, or presets, and I record directly to youtube through my webcam. Can anyone suggest a good third party program to use as an equalizer? Or maybe do some video or audio editing? At first I was just eager to get my mic and piano through my computer, but you are right. Without proper equalization, and a good preamp.. I am sort of floundering.. I'll take any help I can get. Thanks for watching, folks. Travis
  14. I hope everyone had a great holiday. I've always loved this song, and it's a bit difficult to sing, so tell me what you think... Travis http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gIHRmHJKUvw
  15. It has it's rough spots, but it's a good song. My good friend Ben played guitar. What do you think? http://www.youtube.com/user/Orendrol?feature=mhum
  16. It's just a few days until I get my new microphone. I can't wait to try it out and record some new stuff, but I also couldn't wait to make another video. So here's my attempt at Lionel Richie's "Hello". It's a far cry from perfect, but I really love the song. Felt like posting. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hcVpEAuR974
  17. I also really like the tone of your voice. I listened to Simple Man, and I enjoyed it. Keep up the good work.
  18. It's never too early for Christmas music. Here's my attempt at "I'll Be Home for Christmas" with a jazzier piano arrangement, and some rubato-esque vocal style. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ECXLVtdOqsk
  19. Well, I hope to soon have a decent microphone for recording. When I do, I think I might use audacity so that I can keep the vocal and piano tracks separate so that I can do a little bit of editing myself. Thanks again for your comments. They are very well received. Travis
  20. Oh my goodness. I personally think my voice sounds much jazzier with a little reverb. I greatly appreciate this. If you don't mind me asking, what program did you use to tweak it?
