Ok i got it. Yep this one is great man. You are using here a more opened wovel, but not too splatty and shooty.

For the overdrivy exercice, you don't want to feel the sound stuck in your mouth. You want really feel like belting, but the sensation must still set high in the palate.

To me, both "i am running out of strenght" are mixed voice. The first one has a bit more meat but the difference is subtle. What i refered as "pure chest" would indeed be a very overdrivy sound on opened wovels (on the audio, you are using covered wovels, which automatically throws you in a certain amount of mix).

Yes, the overdrive must feel like very effortful at the beginning, and any vocal tract shifting (being too harsh on consonants) will make the voice yoddle in a bad way. But with the propper support and phrasing, you will be able to go up there. That may not be the sound you are searching for, but as an exercice it will help you getting a heavier mix.

This stuff is quite Advanced and it must be monitored and never be so harsh that you can feel it the next day.

You already got a good light mix and good head resonance. I feel what you just need now is to put just a bit more compression to the sound.

Do you use this mix on A4 and before?

If you want to sound chestier, i think you will have to think about having at least A4 in full chest voice consistently when you sing and try to get up to C5 in full chest when you do scales.

It sounds counterintuitive, but after a while, you will notice that your mix is getting beefier through all your range.

I think part of it is falstto but mainly this is definitely a light mix. When polished, this sound can be nice to sing light things, but if you want to sound heavier, you will have to bring more chestiness.

What you are doing is already quite Advanced, but for leaked air in my opinion is a result of the chords not being fully abducted. I had the same sound, a bit less twangy than yours though. With the right exercices it will eventually strenghten.

Nice start man, but you leave our ears craving for more. I have sung the song myself a few times and for me the hardest part is the line "Now you'd better stop .... despite of their loosing". So hard to pull the pronounciation because Robert Plant also sings so high...

Excellent man. I like the fact that you switch effortlessly between many different styles of singing thus giving a very original interpretation.

At 1.10 it sounds really bel canto. Very different from the original but it works well.

I also noticed that you are way chestier than Tate except on the E5, as Tate would sing entierely in full head voice. I am mistaking to say that the way you do it is even more difficult than the full head approach? How much do you have to support to do this?

Excellent performance, great control and stage confidence. It was a real pleasure to watch. In the first video, is the B4 at the end a covered head tone? If so, you really got a nice compression and great formant tuning, because this is no easy note.

Wow sounds awesome. You got a nice smooth voice throughout all the range and it pretty much sounds like the " sls mix ". Good vibrato as well. And all that while playing the guitar.

But i would say the same thing Geno is talking about. You seem to be very focussed on what you are doing. You can be the best singer and not win the audience if you don't put some stage presence.

I listened to the video clip and i actually prefer your version. I don't know if it is a stylictic choice but on the video, the high notes are very tight and seemed to be reached by force (at least thats how it sounds to my hears). I found your rendition better on these parts.

Good overall performance.

On the verses there is pitchiness that you manage to correct, but the part " you'd better close your eyes.. OOOhoooo " is off key.

The second screaming section (E5) is cool, it sounds very halfordesque (in both the timbre and use of delay), and the last screaming sessions(A5) is surpsrisingly cool, i think you are on the edge on your range and yet you bring an extra push, good drama quality.

Thanks for the imput Jonathan. I just finished Vandera's ultimate breathing workout and at some point, he says that the " inhalation sensation " ( feeling like holding the breath while singing ) is something very helpful.

Hey guys. Its me, but with another account (i was using the other as a joke but i didn't realize i would be hooked by this forum).

I did a second take with my cam. This is quite rough singing, recorded and performed with what i have in hand hehe

Ron, i checked the lyrics and i get : " her mind is tiffany twisted" instead of " definitely twisted "? I have heard live performances and i am yet not sure about what this line is.

I will be working on my accent, but thats something quite discouraging for me. When i am in an English speaking country, i get quite a good accent, which i immediately lose when i come back to France in a couple of monthes.

I would really like to hear your own take. I have listened to some of your stuff before and i am just curious how your voice would apply to these dynamics. I think you would sound a bit less tight on the chorus, as i have heard other songs where you would sing A4s quite easily.

I am in Texas right now, and the first thing i noticed is the accent ( besides being dwarfed by huge cars ). I think a southern touch would be great, instead of my french accent.

It seems in the trend to do some " challenges " on songs that are interesting and hard to nail. I am surprised that I didn't hear any cover of this song, and I think it could be great to hear your own takes.

I think this is a great song for a challenge. One can be decieved by the fact that there are no very high notes, and yet, i think it is a though song. It stands right in the passagio during four minutes, and is an endurance song. I find these high belts ( between F4 and A4 mostly ) more difficult than higher notes and especially hard to sustain consistently.

Thank you for the encouragement (always great to have good feedback from seasoned singers), i think the song is above my singing level but i know well the dynamics because i sang it over and over.

The accent thing is definitely unintended and as such, should be worked on. I am French, and so is generally my audience so i guess nobody noticed it. I will definitely work on that.

I am still in the learning process regarding this song, which i find very challenging. The whole melody revolves arounf F#4 and the challenge is to keep dynamic, energic belts throughout all the song.

I would like to have your comments and advice on how to improve this song.

The quality of the recording could be better ( i use my cam because i am not home ), but this is a one take. Looking forward to see your critique or better, to listen to your own version.

I had been sick three days before, to the point that i was about to cancel the show. The doc gave me some cortisone and i was almost instantly feeling better. I had not fully recovered the day of the performance but at least i could sing hehe

Man, you got something solid here! A strong tone and a wide range, well suited for this song.

You mentionned you had trouble with your head voice and i wonder, as i can hear a distinct " airy " sound even on your chest voice, if it doesn't come from here. Junst an hypothesis.

I really like the beginning, its nice to hear you singing that low ( low Gs and i think you are singing a low E with the help of vocal fry :-) ).

I found the second half less enjoyable anthough i like your timbre. I feel it lacks control on the high spots, but more importantly, your mic gets overloaded whennever you raise the pitch. I had the same problems with Audacity... I had to sing three meters away from the mic and even there my voice would sound compressed or muffled.
