For that song, my suggestion is to try and get the rhythm in the song down to where its second nature, that way you can focus on the way you want to sing. :)

Dude I can totally see where your coming from! Singing and playing at the same time is a b*#ch excuse the language. I heard from Ken Tamplin that you lose at least 30% of your support alone sitting down let alone playing an instrument like guitar or piano at the same time. Theres some interesting finger picking patterns in that song so that was a good take.

Was this done in one take? You actually have a pretty cool tone for the chorus with the rasp thing going on. Pretty good quality audio too, what software/ mics do you use?

Speaking of not singing like you speak, I heard a lot of flak about SLS singing advocating "singing like you speak". Does that rumor have some degree of truth? Sorry about the flood of questions lol.

As far as what I was doing in the song, I think what Seth said about cord closure is exactly what I felt like I was trying to do. I feel a distinct pressure in my sinuses whenever I sing in head voice. Is that a tell-tale sign of head voice?

I'm just now learning the technicalities of singing I've been singing on my own for a while now with no formal lessons yet but thats probably happening in the near future. ^.^ When Robert means "mixed voice" is dead is he pointing out that if you can bridge your passagio, there would be little difference between the registers of your voice and it will all sound as one steady tone no matter how high or low your voice goes?

Now that I listened to the song and then your version again I completely agree with ronws. Pretty rad man! Rock n roll ain't perfect that's for sure!

Pretty great Chavrie! I'm new to singing but I know a good singer when I hear one. You seem to have a rich dark tenor midrange just like Paul did.

I normally try to avoid mixing that low in my range, its just for that particular song Rob Halford used this beautifully- resonant unique breathy head voice that sounded something like maybe a reinforced falsetto with head voice in the mix that I found pretty rad. Once again I appreciate your critique!

Thanks for the feedback man! I don't normally have a raspy voice its just when I sing in that register after a while that tends to happen for some reason. I had allergies that day so maybe that could be it. I had to tune my 12-string guitar a step up because that seems to be the money note and me being a baritone I had to make some adjustments lol.

Hey man! From what I can hear, you've got the right tone and feel for the song. At times it seemed your vibrato set your voice a little unsteady pitch-wise but that can be easily fixed with a little practice.

Hey everyone, wabba here! I'm new here to the site and I just was wondering if there is such a thing as a head/falsetto mix. I'll be singing/ playing the messa de voce intro to the classic Dreamer Deceiver. I was just practicing singing and playing guitar at the same time so I figured that song is a good place to start lol. I was gonna continue but my dad kinda interrupted me >.<.
