TMV World Legacy Member Javastorm Posted April 15, 2014 TMV World Legacy Member Share Posted April 15, 2014 Just covered I Promise by Stacie Orrico, tried recording two songs in one day lol. It's an English R&B song, and I lowered the key down four half-steps. I'd appreciate if you could tell me if I should sing it a bit lower, or tips on reaching the A4 mix at the end in my chest voice...[i used my head voice in this recording for that specific note] I feel like I can only sing past G#4 if the duration of the note is fairly quick. Example of Higher Range: https://app.box.com/s/cq8yjb25j6oc2da52nei F#4 at 1:59-2:04, short G#4 at 2:12-2:14, A at 2:54-2:59, A#, G's and G# from 3:04-3:20 Cover: https://app.box.com/s/jjy5vb6vlx6tnkaivvcp Original song: "The journey in between what you once were and who you are now becoming is where the dance of life really takes place." -B. TMV World Legacy Member Javastorm Posted April 16, 2014 Author TMV World Legacy Member Share Posted April 16, 2014 Decided to record it again a bit lower [-5], and I changed the reverb from a "bright" to something else so the sibilance issue is fixed! I think the high section at the very end was a little more comfortable this time . (When I tried recording this even lower [-6], the verse ended up being so low it was shaky and difficult to control). 2nd attempt: https://app.box.com/s/m6e0dgwaa3cortf2cod9 "The journey in between what you once were and who you are now becoming is where the dance of life really takes place." -B.
