  2. True Story - Lyrics Below

"BERLIN SKIES OF GRAY, SO COLD I CANNOT BREATH
I LOST A FRAULINE IN THE STORM, A BLITZ I COULD NOT SEE
BUT HERE I STAND, DEFIANTLY MENDING A HEART RIPPED TO SHREDS OF TRAGEDY
BUT MY FACE TO THE WIND, I'M WASHED FROM MY SIN, BUT YOU STILL KEEP HAUNTING ME
    CHORUS
WITH TIMELESS CHAINS, THERE'S NO ESCAPE
    YOU WALKED AWAY
JUST WHEN I STARTED TO GET MY LIFE BACK UNDER ME
SO MUCH TIME HAS PASSED SINCE THAT FATEFUL DAY.
SO MUCH TIME HAS PASSED SINCE YOU TURNED AWAY."
  3. As singers, we are storytellers. Don’t forget that.

WHEN SINGING, THE MOST ESSENTIAL THING TO REVEAL IS A STORY. AS SINGERS, WE ARE STORYTELLERS, LITERALLY. LYRICS, MELODY, EMOTIONAL OUTPUT, BACKED BY A SOUNDTRACK… WE DELIVER STORIES.
In the art of singing, we have the unique ability to embody various characters within a narrative. We can take on the role of "the guide," an impartial narrator; "the hero," the central figure who faces and overcomes challenges; or "the victim," the individual or group affected by the unfolding events. The lyrics guide us in determining which persona to adopt and who narrates the tale. It's essential to remember that singing is an extension of musical theater. We are, in essence, nuanced performers and contemporary raconteurs. We might have gathered around a campfire in bygone eras, sharing tales with our community. Today, we weave our stories against technology and musical scores.
To show up, I'd like to share a personal experience. I once loved deeply, only to face heartbreak when we parted ways. The pain was palpable when I saw her at a gathering surrounded by others. Yet, this story isn't just about heartache; it's about recognizing my shortcomings in the relationship, learning from them, and ultimately forgiving myself. By sharing this genuine account, I step into the hero's shoes. The underlying message for listeners is clear: We all err in matters of the heart. Instead of being consumed by remorse, learning, forgiving oneself, and becoming more resilient to move on is vital.
THE SONG IS “THE FOOL THAT’S NOW FORGIVEN”… ENJOY.

  4. “Two possibilities exist: either we are alone in the Universe, or we are not. Both are equally terrifying.”

     Arthur C. Clarke

THIS IS A STORY OF HOW WE HAVE BEEN VISITED BY A SUPERIOR ALIEN RACE WHO SEEKS TO ENSLAVE HUMANITY OR, AT LEAST, MAKE US THEIR PETS.

THEY SEND A MESSENGER TO COMMUNICATE WITH US, TO DELIVER THIS NEWS.
IT WAS WRITTEN IN STONE IN ANCIENT TIMES THAT THIS WOULD HAPPEN, BUT THE MESSAGE WAS IGNORED. NOW IT IS TOO LATE. WE HAVE TO GIVE IT OUR BEST SHOT TO DEFEND OUR PLANET AND NOT BE ENSLAVED, BUT IT IS POINTLESS AGAINST SUCH INSURMOUNTABLE ODDS.
    4:16
Thieves in the night, they'll pass through an open door.
Then you will question what the hell we're fighting for.
Encrypted secrets, lost and forgotten sage.
Protect all our wisdom from an ancient iron age.
I search high, I search low.
Break the chains, bought or sold.
    I can't bring it back.
    People are so bold.
    Nothing more remains.
    Prophecy, in Stone...
    ...
    "That's The Plan!"
    "That's The Plan!"
    "Backs To The Wall!"

Wait until the super spooky ending...

  5. Robert Lunte - The Wreck of The Edmund Fitzgerald
I ALWAYS LOVED THIS SONG FOR ITS EXTRAORDINARY STORY-TELLING MERITS. THIS IS A TRUE STORY ABOUT THE TANKER SHIP, EDMUND FITZGERALD, A TANKER SHIP THAT SUNK IN LAKE SUPERIOR IN A STORM. IT IS A GREAT STORY TO TELL AND I HOPE YOU ENJOY IT.
BTW, ANYTIME YOU WANT TO GIVE A SONG A MARITIME FEEL, PUT IT IN 3/4 TIME. WORKS EVERY TIME. ENJOY! AS ALWAYS, BE SURE TO LISTEN WITH HEADPHONES FOR MAXIMUM EFFECTS.
  6. Here is my song,

    "Lord of Sadness"

    ENJOY!
SHARE A LINK TO YOUR SINGING!
This was a paid gig. The lyrics were provided to me and we then wrote the groove and produced the video. Super fun. As musicians, sometimes a good song speaks to you and reveals itself to you. It tells you what to do. The song has a "map" and an "instruction manual" that comes with it intuitively after years of singing and coaching songs.

Among other things, this includes recognizing what the groove is. Where the accents are and what the characters of the story are doing and who they are. Singing is theater. And it is our job and privilege to tell a story as musicians. But it takes a LOT of practice to know how to do that. 7. Child In Time - Robert Lunte

THIS SONG IS ICONIC. THE ORIGINAL WAS SUNG BY IAN GILLAN, OF DEEP PURPLE. IT IS UNQUESTIONABLY CONSIDERED TO BE ONE OF THE GREATEST ROCK VOCAL PERFORMANCES OF ALL TIME. DARING TO STEP UP TO COVER IT, REQUIRES NUTS.
IT ALSO REQUIRES ADVANCED PHYSICAL TRAINING OF THE VOICE TO SCREAM THESE HIGH NOTES. THE HIGH NOTES ARE REFERRED TO AS "FLAGEOLET", WHICH TRANSLATES TO "A SMALL FLUTE ". WELL, THERE IS NOTHING SMALL ABOUT THIS SOUND WHEN EXECUTED BY THE HUMAN VOICE AT EXTREME SOUND PRESSURE LEVELS, BUT THE FREQUENCIES ARE SIMILAR.
THE GORGEOUS AND ARTY VIDEOGRAPHY WAS CRAFTED BY THE BRILLIANT KILIII YUYAN. THIS IS TRULY OUR WORK OF ART TOGETHER. THANKS, KILIII YUYAN
I WANTED TO CHOOSE A SONG THAT IS SCARY FOR OCTOBER, THIS IS MY MOST SCARY OPTION.
THE TVS VOCAL TRAINING PROGRAM, "THE FOUR PILLARS OF SINGING" HAS A WORKOUT IN IT TITLED, "CRY VOCAL MODE & EXTREME SCREAM TRAINING" WHICH WILL TRAIN YOUR VOICE TO BE ABLE TO SCREAM SUPER HIGH NOTES LIKE THIS. WWW.THEVOCALISTSTUDIO.COM
    ANYWAY, ENJOY!
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SCARY SONG?
  8. Hello Lynn,

I have actually coached this song with my young theater students as well. I have some experience with this song.

    • Pretty voice with much potential  to be sure.
    • However,...
    • This is being sung way too light and windy. Does she have a Classical oriented, choir oriented voice coach?
      • Super windy and weak.
      • Sound colors and energy befitting of singing in a choir, NOT singing as a soloist which is what she has to do with this song.
    • The support is so weak as a matter of fact that the intonation is barely hanging on... pitch is in and out. Not because your niece has any issues with her ears, but because there is no leverage or anchoring behind the mechanism, causing it to just sort of ,... blow around in a light, windy choral approach.
    • The ending is nice.

    I'd give it a B.

I think she can get a LOT more out of her voice than this.

I would be happy to coach her on this song and make it come to life.

    Just reach out..

    Coach Robert
