Thanks Ron! I'm glad you enjoyed my videos! I think my tone was a little brighter for Mr. Brightside. Nowadays I am a little darker like Lavishous notes (I feel like it's better support). Glad you guys enjoy it regardless!

As usual, I loved it. You rock like there's no tomorrow.
Much appreciated Ron! I'll keep rockin!

What a fun video. And just to confirm your statement, I feel appreciated in the exact amount I was expecting.
I have always liked RHCP and especially this song and "City of Angels."
Good job, I like the elegantly simple arrangement on one guitar. Go figure, I do it all the time, myself, if you have listened to any of my stuff.
Thanks Ron! Haha glad you've been appreciated appropriately. This is my favorite track by RHCP too. And I haven't listened to your stuff before, I'm going to check it out now!

Finally got to hear this. First off, even though I am older than Dave Grohl, I want to grow up and write songs like he does. This was not only a huge break-out hit for FF, but just a really good song, it's all in the lyrics. Which leads me to hypothesize why you are shaky in spots. It's the phrasing. Dave, of course, has been drummer for Nirvana and, on the road, regularly drums for Queens of the Stone Age. So, when he writes a song, it's all about rhythm. Especially with an awesome drummer like Taylor.
It's almost as if the verses and pre-chorus are meant to be behind the beat. Then Taylor kicks in on the toms and the melody goes on the beat.
You do fine in the chorus, which is the highest part of this song, because it's on the beat and you already know the timing and phrasing. Trust me, these things still catch me unaware. Here, lately, when I've done covers with just my guitar, slowing it down and using finger picking cleared things up for me, because it allowed for a more rhythmic feeling to come forth. You've got the range and the right voice. It just seems to me more of a timing issue than anything. Once you've locked into a groove and the feel of the jazz in the verses, it will sing itself.
Glad you got your internet fixed, and thanks for the feedback, I'll work on my phrasing!

Much appreciated guys, and yes the beginning is pitchy. I'll work on it. This recording is the 5th take and my voice was growing tired, but even when that happens, adding compression seems improve the pitch.

This is one of 'goal' songs, something difficult that I've been working towards. Let me know how to improve.

Absolutely well done. I may be an audience of one but I clap really loud.
Hahaha much appreciated Ron! You're a great audience

Okay, I missed that episode. And I had thought about suggesting you to cover Tom Petty stuff because you have a good voice for his range and style but I didn't know if it was out of your style range though the acoustic folk ballads you have been doing lately would suggest that Petty is not totally out of all consideration to cover.
Just like people suggesting I cover Neil Young. His songs are not usually in my set list, as it were, but my voice and singing style are a close enough match and I did get some applause from the one or two other people who will listen to something besides Journey or Iron Maiden.
For example, if you really look at the song construction and arrangement, there is not much difference between Foo Fighters and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Different production values on the vocals and I think Dave Grohl has a little more rattle in his voice. And Tom can hit a few notes below Dave, as I can hear in the speaking part of your voice.
Tom Petty has got some great tracks, and does often sing in a nice comfortable range (mainly in verses). Funny that you'd mention Dave Grohl, he's one of the modern rock singers that often sings in a comfortable range for me as well. Of course Dave also sometimes goes very high and distorted (like on the chorus of The Pretender) which is quite the challenge!
As you noticed, I have a 'lower' voice so I struggle with higher range. Over time I've been noticing improvement/increased range in myself however so I'm keeping it at it.

That was a unique version and I liked it. I did not think it could be a duet but I think you did it right.
Thanks Ron, I'm glad you liked it. They actually did this duet on The Voice which is why she wanted to do it!

I really liked it. I like how you sang it fuller than Ed. This is truly a cover and not an attempt to copy. Bravo for your band of compatriots, fellow miscreants providing the "choreography."
Thank you Ron! I appreciate the feedback as always, and my band of compatriots appreciates your appreciation of their supreme dance-moves!

I liked it and I didn't hear any blocked nasalence, like one would have with a cold. Then, again, I am used to hearing your voice, so, there were no overt changes in tone that I could hear.
A little techy note coming from me. Remember, when I was a kid, the "internet" was smoke signals from hilltop to hilltop.
Anyway, when you want to embed a video here with the youtube button, pay attention to the address. See where it says https:// ? Get rid of that 's'. That is what is throwing off the embed feature.
Thanks ron, and I'll fix the link now! It's funny to imagine somebody recording an album with a cold the whole time.

First things first. You need to correct your link.
Now, onto the tune.
Great song! I really liked the tune. Your tone is good and I can sense some feeling/emotion behind the singing, which really helps a song.
Now for the negative.
You seem to slur a lot and you sound a little like your sinuses are plugged up. The lyrics are VERY hard to understand and the muddiness of your voice is very distracting. I don't think it's in the mix.
You should try re-recording that song and specifically focus on your speech pattern while singing to try to enunciate the lyrics more clearly. I'm not sure what to suggest about the "stuffed up" sound. Perhaps you had a cold? If so wait till it clears up.
Eric
Thanks berniemcpeak! I think it is partly in the mix because in a new cover I did with an altered vocal mix, people have been giving praise to how my voice sounds in it. I did not have a cold. But I hear what you mean.
