TMV World Legacy Member rainingblood Posted October 10, 2013 TMV World Legacy Member Share Posted October 10, 2013 I am a multi-instrumentalist and the one thing I have never done is vocals. Go ahead and laugh at the cover, I just want to know how to improve vocally. Any tips would help. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lIk4TwPPRoU&feature=youtu.be
TMV World Legacy Member gilad Posted October 10, 2013 TMV World Legacy Member Share Posted October 10, 2013 Hey man. Welcome to the forum. I think you can start by recording with less reverb. Its really difficult to review your voice this way. All in all, anyone can sing with the right training. For your genre, I highly recommend the 4 pillars of singing which is the website owner's program. Robert Lunte goes into extreme singing including screams, distortion etc.. which seems like that is your style. Hope this helps. TMV World Legacy Member ronws Posted October 11, 2013 TMV World Legacy Member Share Posted October 11, 2013 I am guessing, with a login like yours, and the style of song you covered, you are probably a fan of Slayer and similar bands. Here's the thing. Singing really is singing. Not speaking. Do you "speak" the song "Happy Birthday" to a relative? No, you sing it. So, while this song you covered is dense with lryics, they need to be thought of as notes, note poetry. Even in such hard core metal. For example, one of my favorites, Corey Taylor. Why do you think Slipknot and Stone Sour has been so successful? Because he is singing, even when you think he is not. Try the perspective and see what it does for you.
