You allowing a dipthong. A dipthong is where you have vowel sounds changing in the same syllable. English is bad about that. For example, the word eye is a dipthong of ah and ee. So, what you could to clean it up for articulation and stronger pitch is to sing l-eh-t ee-t g-ah. Don't change to oh at the end of the phrase. Let it stay on ah.
