  1. Here's the lyrics(sorry for the bad recording, my voice is very muddy, because I had the mic placed to low to my guitar) "Don't be strong my friend. Don't hold on to it again. For even the river cry's now and again. The leaves may fall, but they'll grow back soon. So let the tears come, let em come surging through. A day's not new, if you hold on to. A day not new is one held on to."
  2. Here is the link for it on soundcloud. Please listen and honestly tell me if it's any good

  6. I'm currently 17 and I'm just really looking for some honest input. How can I improve? I know I still struggle to reach my head voice without cracking...is there any good training I can do to prevent this or is it a waiting game? Anyways any criticism would be great:).

  8. Wow thanks a lot:), you guys boost my confidence so much with singing. I don't know why(I think many singers have this problem), but I struggle to actually like the sound of my voice, and to stop myself from altering it too much...you guys really help to plant in my head to stop being so critical and to just enjoy singing.
  9. It's a little lower register than him, I can do the same, but I have a show later this week and don't want to strain my voice so I just did what was more comfortable. Honest opinions please:)
  10. I didn't drink a lot of water before, but I'm getting better now. I don't smoke, and I only do some basic warm ups that I've learned-mainly some lip trills, but only recently have I been getting good at them. Here's a recording I did a little back https://soundcloud.com/monkeyman103/the-highway-is-my-home-will-hoge-cover
  11. I always find that after I've been singing for about 20 minutes my jaw is a little tense and my throat may be a bit raspy. I'm pretty sure I'm doing proper breaths, and as far as I know I'm getting proper support from the diaphragm(although I do feel a bit of tension in the throat while singing, but it seems like the resonance is focused in my head at the front of my mouth which is good). This sounds ridiculous but my main concern is whether or not my tongue is the problem. My tongue is a little longer than most, I can touch the bottom of my nose with it easily; I'm curious to know if its length could be hindering my singing. -I know this sounds ridiculous haha, but is there tongue warm ups or any training I can do to release more tension?

  18. You have potential and your voice naturally carry's a fine resonance. It wasn't bad, but I'd recommend to try a few exercises each day that would benefit your breathing technique. At times it sounded like you were struggling for air and it resulted in your voice not sounding as good as it can. Try to breath deep, and focus the breath towards the lower portion of your stomach. Hold you hands onto the side of your stomach and as you breath you should feel you stomach bulge forwards, sides, and the back. This will open you lungs more and create more of a rich sound. Also pay attention to your posture, sit up, shoulder relaxed and down, and try to ease the throat. Push the voice to the front of your mouth and tuck your tongue under your bottom teeth. If you practice this then you will start to notice huge changes in the quality of you voice.
  19. Do I sound good vocally, be honest:) in the areas that I can improve. https://soundcloud.com/monkeyman103/midnight-on-the-interstate-cover
