What beast is saying is essentially that the high part is uncontrolled. You are just wailing on the melody. With refinement it can sound good. But now its soundsvlike your wanking your range.

You can upload to box.net and share link here

Oh shit bro thats awesome!!!
Do you mind sharing your backing track! Would love doing a cover over that!
-
No problem, I missed what you were specifically asking the first time round!
I just play the sound back in the room and sing through the mic. If I played just the vocal track you would be able to hear the other instruments bleeding through the mic. It's not the best way to do things but I don't currently own a decent set of studio headphones. I just keep the mic far away from the speakers and play the track quietly as I sing. Since the vocals get played over the same track in the final mix I don't see the harm in doing it this way for now.
There can be a bit harm if u use some effects like delay or echo. Cuz the feedback will delay the instrunentak that got picked up by mic and that can sound wierd xD..
But ussualy its fine

Anthony thats REALLY GOOD... seriosuly..i really enjoyed it alot...awesome timbre and feel for dynamics..also you have a preety nice vibrato and contorol when doing sustained notes.
Kudos bro!
P.S. Flute = crazy awesome
P.S. i browsed your youtube chanell....MAD SKILLZ BRAH... really..esspecially guitar lick and stuff.. top notch..we have same taste in music

yeah I definitely see where you guys are coming from being anti-auto tune. I think its awesome to see a great singer, but some people aren't as blessed and auto-tune is a good outlet so someone can still be an artist and express their creative skills.
Singing had nothing to do with being gifted or born to sing. Singing is a skill that is supposed to be learned. Noone was born as singer. Humans are not made for singing. Singing is man made thing. Its invented, and as such it must be learned.
-
ofc..there is a section called "lookinf for singer" or smth like that where yu can post your project
-
Not that i could think of...since it is your style and your original songs i wont really go into wether i like it or not, i can only comment on technical details and everything seems to be fine accept the pitch. So you are good
Btw auto-tune if used as an effect thats quite alright, but if you use it in normal signing there is nothing to be "in"...
-
bassically every 2-3 note you go out of pitch. its pitchy troughout. try matching the pitch with piano, and singing simple harmonies like twinkle twinkle little star and record yourself. then post it here so we can see if you are pitchy when doing that.
-
well bro i cant say anything bad. Everything is preety good and solid. Nice tone, cool phrasing. You just need to refine it a bit and thats all.
Depends on what you are after, this sounds preety complete to me.
-
I like your style. It is kinda fresh but influences from modern music are abvious. Therevare pitch issues but the overall tone is good.
Also dont cater your music to anyone. It should be the expression of yourself. Otherwise your just anothet wishy washy looking for money and fame. And you really cant cater music to everyone.

brutal. That F#5 is awesome. resonant and full. gj brah

Anthony this only tip of the iceberg. Im on these boards for like 7months or more and with pillars and forum i still havent absorbed even the half of it. But i have improved tremebdously. Dont hesitate to ask. When i joined i was creating threads almost daily. Needless to say i was boring myself but the guys here answered everything

Ty felipe. Il do a full cover on sunday and ill use those tips.
Also i am aware of dynamic issue. The thing is was bassically learning it on the spot and recording It the same time.
Im deffinatelly sing it with more finesse on the full version.

He choose randomly. Wasnt by vote. Otherwise country choicze would have been something else. Bonnie Rait i think
-
Awesome cover. Now upload an avatar before TMV Police get to you.
-
Oh snaap!!! My song got selected. I guess i should step up then :))
-
Ah, so THIS is how it's meant to be done!?
Brilliant work. Are you singing the second half of this in chest voice?
To be honest bro i have no clue. I think i am yea. I always pushed chest hard. Lately ive been learning how to release into head voice but the vocal mass is still preety high.
-
Im gonna try putting down something this sunday. Be sure to tune in. Gonna try opening up a bit and make it as stable as possible. Gonna includevyour tips
-
Second chorus is awesome. That scream at the end is priceless
-
Enander you are spot on. I do clench my jaw at times and i do close off the mouth, almost like im gripping on my teeth (like im angry and im pressing my teeth hard.
I wanna do a full cover now hahah gonna try recordung it these days need some practice tough this was really spintaneous and impromtu.
-
Dude, you really got such a nice timbre that almost makes me jealous...a good kind of jealous.
wow thanks Gnee!! I always hated my timbre. I think it sound too boyish and not suited for rock/metal which i listen the most...coincidentaly Rainbow is my favourite band, and only song i can sing by them is Temple of the King which caps at A4...but im not giving up NEVERRRRRRR

New member on our boards Anthony insoired me to try this song, i whiped out my guitar and a mobile phone and tried recording it
Its one take and i had to read the chords and the lyrics from my mobile phone so its a bit all over the place.
Also on the highest point in the song i kinda broke down but thats fine because i would like some tips on that. I think the note is B4. That is a note that i can sometimes sing decently when warmed up, but it ussualy sounds like it does in the clip.
Thanks in advance!!

Overall good. But yea sonetines its a bit too airy and sounds like your lowering larynx too much. Sounds kinda dopey like olem said

its a nice voice to start training. you seem to follow pitch ok but you are a pitchy. what i mean is, you can hear and follow pitch decently but not good enough. Also the main thing thats a problem with you is that you sing like you speak and thats not the way to do it. this takes practice but a decent start. get a training programm or a cheap vocal coach nearby.
I say cheap because you would want someone tto teach you the basics and that not a hard job to do so any decent coach can do that. later on upgrade
