My band has been asked to cover this song at our gig on thursday so thought i'd have a quick go to the backing track. I think it sounds ok, but what do you guys think?

Does it have enough of the Ozzy vibe to get us through? what could be better?

Thanks guys

Definitely the right amount of Ozzie vibe. And your voice is better. You have natural vibrato that he did not have. Definitely takes me back to the days before Glenn Hughes was there and later, RJD.

edited to add:

I should probably explain the Glenn Hughes thing, for those who don't know. After Ozzy was fired from Black Sabbath, the band was kind of in limbo. Tony Iommi is never one to sit around and just twiddle his thumbs. So, he went off to do a solo album and invited his friend, singer and bass player, Glenn Hughes to join him. By the time they were done, the record company caught wind and decided that Iommi was still under contract to do albums of Black Sabbath and decided the "solo" album was a BS album, henceforth entitled "Seventh Son." But there was a hit song from a video made during the time. "No Stranger to Love."

(ron, just stop with the inane trivia ....)

Thanks Ron i'm glad you think it's acceptable. you know i really love Ozzy's voice. I can understand why some people don't like it as it seems basic in some ways but I think it's really surprisingly underrated.

You are always a wealth of Knowledge buddy :) I actually really enjoy all the Sabbath incarnations with Dehumanizer, Headless cross, and even Seventh Star being among my favs but honestly imo they shouldn't be called Black Sabbath records but it's interesting from the point you made that it's not always down to the artist. there was probably huge pressure for them to keep the sabbath name on releases throughout.

Thanks, Jon. I have a head full of useless trivia and all the years to collect it.

My favorite Ozzie tunes? "Crazy Train" and "Momma, I'm Coming Home."
