TMV World Legacy Member Olem Posted June 19, 2010 TMV World Legacy Member Posted June 19, 2010 Hi,singers! I continue my practise of the Brian Johnson sound. That is twanging alot and adding distortion to my vocals. I have noticed that i more easily gets distortion to my voice now and it doesn´t hurt either so i guess i´m on the right track. But, i would like to hear your opinions of this vocal performance. Am i close to this type of sound a´la Brian Johnson, Axl Rose? Thanx in advance The link: www.box.net/shared/rrz4710345
TMV World Legacy Member ronws Posted June 19, 2010 TMV World Legacy Member Posted June 19, 2010 You still have more of a Brian Johnson sound. I couldn't hear any Axl in your voice. Good for you on adding your own vocalizations to make the song yours. I would say that you already have enough distortion and keep the twang going. The twang, more than distortion, will keep you on pitch. That is, if one were to express a ratio, make it about 70 % twang and 30 % distortion. Which might just be a preference of mine. Any day we get some AC/DC is a good day.
TMV World Legacy Member Olem Posted June 22, 2010 Author TMV World Legacy Member Posted June 22, 2010 Ok, thanx for the reply, Ronws. I was thinking, won´t i have to darken the sound a little more to sound even more like ac/dc?
TMV World Legacy Member ronws Posted June 22, 2010 TMV World Legacy Member Posted June 22, 2010 I had not thought of it that way but, yes, you could probably go a little darker or fatter in the note and achieve Brian-ness with it.
TMV World Legacy Member jonpall Posted June 23, 2010 TMV World Legacy Member Posted June 23, 2010 You've got the sound pretty well down, now it's time to fix those pitch issues. Good job on a song most people can't even try to sing!
