  1. Hi guys. It took a while to get the lighting right for this scene of Adriana Lecouvreur. Adriana is crying because she thinks the Violet was sent to her from her lover as a sign of his ending love. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=26Wq2s4Zjv4
  2. Thank you so much for the nice comment, Tyson. My coach is always telling me "don't push". He is an Opera singer in Paris and he keeps working on my support and mouth position to increase my volume. It has come a long way. Thank you. ~Elena~
  3. Hi guys! I was working on this project just before I suddenly wanted to do the "My Heart Will Go On" tribute to my dog B.D. This is one of my favorite songs. It's "Only An Ocean Away" by Sarah Brightman. I hope you like it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=va62kiaYXAQ
  4. Thanks for the advice and offer Keith! My classical coach wants me to use minimal software intervention but Youtube has its own compressors when you upload so it does become a guessing game. Sorry, I don't know what "clipping the mic" means. I know I always have a challenge with the high notes buzzing in the speakers that I have to adjust for. What is the best way to not loose the strength of a note but to stop the buzzing? Thanks. ~Elena~
  5. Of course I will Adolph. This video was done last minute. I have a really cool project I'm working on. Can't wait for you to hear it. ~Elena~
  6. Hi guys. Yesterday was the second year anniversary of my dog and best friend, B.D. passing away. I made a video of "My heart Will Go On" in memory of her last year. I decided to redo it for her two days ago because my singing style has changed. I thought I would post both here for comparison. Here is the new one in head voice. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHlWBcWtzzw Here is last years version in chest voice. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JP4uw9yvQ70 I still like them both. My next goal is to seamlessly go between chest and head voice.
  7. Thank you for the kind words, Doc. Sorry for the late reply. I had gymnastics summer camp last week and I'm exhausted! We filmed that full moon while the storm clouds were coming in because the last words in Czeck are "Don't go away, Don't go away".
  8. Hi Guys! I just finished recording my latest Opera. The hardest part of this project was learning the Czech pronunciation. The song in called "Song to the Moon" from the opera Rusalka by Antonín Dvořák. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ch7RKTlqs2A
  9. Thank you so much Mr. Lunte! I spend most of my time working on classical style support. I don't know how to "activate some vocal compression". Is there something I can practice to learn it? Thank you.
  10. Thank you so much for all the kind words everyone! @Elrathion: I started singing May 2012. I started lessons in November 2012. I even had some lessons from TMV's Adolph. My main teacher is an ex-Opera singer in Paris, France.
  11. Thank you everyone for those kind words! My teacher has been working hard with me. I really appreciate all his great effort.
  12. Hi everyone! I finally sang one of my favorite songs, Ave Maria by Schubert (Latin version) I love this song! It's my first time singing in Latin. I hope you enjoy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QqeXto45n6E
  13. Hi guys. This piece was a bit of a challenge and took quite a bit of extra time with my vocal coach Mr. Didier. Here I sing "Chi il Bel Sogno di Doretta" from the Opera "La Rondine" written by Puccini. Synopsis: In 1860, at a cocktail party in her salon, mistress Magda takes up the poet Prunier's song with words of her own. Her ending is simple: a young student one day kisses Doretta so passionately that she now knows what passion is. Thank you for watching. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rwArBG2CJug
  14. Hi guys. I couldn't resist using my ELF look for this Fantasy song. It seemed to fit well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bd62e1jGBtA Lyrics in English: In my fantasy I see a just world Where everyone lives in peace and honesty I dream of souls that are always free Like a cloud that floats Full of humanity in the depths of the soul In my fantasy I see a bright world Where each night there is less darkness I dream of souls that are always free Like the cloud that floats In my fantasy exists a warm wind That breathes into the city, like a friend I dream of souls that are always free Like the cloud that floats Full of humanity in the depths of the soul
  15. Hi Guys. Here is my 2nd Opera. I got my Dad in this one because he's really good at saying no to boys. This aria, which translates as Oh, My Dear Daddy, is from Puccini's one-act opera Gianni Schicci, first staged in 1918. The young Lauretta (me) is pleading with her father (played by my dad) to be allowed to marry a young man. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnnVtxf7Wbo
  16. Hi guys. My vocal coach had me try a "true Opera". Here I'm singing "Porgi Amor" from "The Marriage of Figaro". Act II of "The Marriage of Figaro". In her boudoir (lady's private bedroom), the Countess Rosine bemoans the Count's infidelity. (from Wikipedia) Lyrics in Italian: Porgi, amor, qualche ristoro, Al mio duolo, a'miei sospir! O mi rendi il mio Tesoro, O mi lascia almen morir. Lyrics translated to English: O Love, give me some remedy, For my sorrow, for my sighs! Either give me back my darling, Or at least let me die. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=veb6gvWDoNs
  17. Thank you for the comment @Keith. Thanks @ronws. My dad is an Aikido Sensei. He is the first person shown throwing a student in the video. He has had me on the mat since I was 3 (got those pictures on my facebook). That is how he met my mom. He lived in Japan for 7 years while he studied Aikido. We had so much fun making the video that we just had to add on the bloopers to let the viewers see behind the scenes.
  18. Hi guys. This is my first original song. The video took a lot of work and is like a mini-movie. My friend Sonya Thompson from “The Walking Dead” guest stars in it. It also has 30 actors, Martial Arts and BLOOPERS . I hope you enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lo7T8wTtGA0
