I was finally able to get "The Four Pillars" and wanted to drop a few lines about it.
I have not been able to perform a Full Practice/Training session yet but just by learning and training the specialized onsets while driving and performing other tasks I have greatly improved.
In the lectures, Roberts enthusiasm for teaching and his desire for the students to make progress really shines through.
I have no doubt that "The Four Pillars of Singing" would be of benefit to any singer, whether Novice or Professional.
Thank you Robert for taking the time to put together a program that is thoughtful, knowledgeable and entertaining as well.
Great to hear, MDEW. I got mine a few weeks ago. Like you said in the post after this, I haven't had the chance just yet to do a good vocal workout with this yet, but it's started changing my thinking. Hoping to get involved with this forum.

Go for feeling good. That one is awesone
Yeah, it's one of the most recognizable songs. If I didn't recommend that one, I knew someone else would.
Any other suggestions? We got just one Country song from you and you can recommend two for Country and two for Jazz.

My suggestions for Jazz:
Feeling Good by Nina Simone
It's hard for a Jersey boy to pick one Sinatra song, so I'm going to go with my favorite.
Summer Wind
Suggestions end in 24 hours. I'm going to randomly select 3 songs from each of the two genre pools, then randomly select a song from each of those pools for the challenge. Then the new challenges will start and go until the 6th of July. New challenge will also start July 6th.
-
This is my second song. Feels Like Today by The Rascall Flatts
This is a cool one. Sing the lead's part all the way through and maybe even try laying down back up vocals for the other parts if your feeling adventurous.
-
This is the first Country song I'm suggesting, "This Time" by Carrie Underwood.

Where's everyone at? We need some more suggestions for Jazz.

Hey Bay,

I have been trying to come up with the quintessential country song; It almost has to be Hank Williams Senior. A toss up between "Cold, cold Heart" and "I can't help it if I'm still in love with you".
Well, you actually can select two songs to go into the pool of possible songs to be chosen.

Great job, everyone. It was nice to see what everyone had to offer I know I certainly learned something from the feedback I got from my own attempt. I hope everyone here will give at least one of the two challenges we're about to have start for June (Country and Jazz) a chance.

Hey all,
It's been requested that I put out an anonymous poll so that people can choose which version they liked best. Everyone did great to even attempt this challenging song. Please vote on which one you liked. If you took part in the challenge, please vote for someone other than yourself.
Poll will close on June 9th.

Here's a rough acapella snippet, as promised. Sang all three verses
Hey GSoul, I could not even see the attached file. It shows an empty window in my screen. What am I doing wrong?
I put the new link up.

Hey Challenge Manager?
Wouldn't it be a cool idea if we created a poll out at the May Challenge so people can vote for their fav.? I mean its not a competition, but I think that might be fun and help give it some closure. And the winner can get something... I don't know, Ill figure something out... maybe a Starbucks gift card or something like that.
Sorry to interrupt your momentum here.
Great job btw...
Yeah, sure we'll do that. I'll throw up another anonymous poll tonight. Voting will close on the 9th.

1. Does Johnny Cash count as Country?
2. How about Marty Robbins? El Paso?
Hell, I thought Johnny would be Country.

Great job, everyone! May's challenge ended on the 2nd. Big thanks and a pat on the back to everyone who found the time to get involved!
Alright. I've been thinking about how we're going to do this without really messing with the timelines and everything. This is what I've come up with. For the next 72 hours (3 days), everyone will recommend up to two songs for each of the challenge genres (you can recommend two songs for Jazz, and two songs for Country). At the end of this 3 day period, I will use a program to randomly select 5 songs from each pool of songs (5 songs from the pool of Country suggestions and 5 from the pool of Jazz suggestions). I will post a video of this being done so that the integrity is preserved. After 5 songs are chosen for each genre, we will open up voting for 3 days. and that's how we'll decide the winning song.
The challenges will now start on the 9th, as soon as the voting is over. These challenges will end on July 5th. Basically, what's happening here, is we're moving the end date back 3 days so that we can move the start date back 3 days and choose our songs. July's challenge will start on July 6th. Voting for what we're going to do in July will still open June 26th.
As for how we'll decide things for July, suggestions are welcome. I had an idea, but it seems to be slipping my mind right now, lol.
So, go ahead and start suggesting songs. If you already have suggested some, the first two that you suggested will be chosen to go into the pool. You also have until 11:59 EST June 6th to revise your suggestions.

Good Job Felipe.
Gsoul and the rest, I am sorry that I could not get any loud time for this and still intend to record my attempt......If nothing else it would have been interesting......
Don't worry about it, Dew. It's great to have as many people as possible get involved with this, but everyone knows that life can get busy at the drop of a hat, and suddenly the time isn't there. I managed to get an attempt off and tried to get a second version done, but the time wasn't there. I didn't manage to record anything with a backing track this time. I want that to be different this month, so I'm going to see if I can make that happen.
Speaking of this month, it would be great if you could be a part of it. We're running two challenges this month: Jazz and Country. And it would still be nice to have you post a Highway Star cover in here.

Hi!
Had to put something together quickly with the notebook, currently away from home. I thinkin its ok but there may be some unballances on the mix (no good headphones with me ).

Very good!

We will be discussing song selection shortly.

Alright, everyone. Voting has now finished. It's interesting how things happen, because we decided to do two challenges this month and it just so happens we ended up in a tie. Both of the tying genres have been selected. This month, we're going to be doing Country and Jazz!

Bono, we didn't vote. We've got a schedule to keep to on these challenges. Time was running out, and something needed to be done to keep uniformity and to keep everybody involved. On the 3rd, because of time, I said that, for 3 days, people would suggest songs. After that, 5 songs would be randomly selected from each genre of suggestions and we would vote for 3 days to choose what we were going to sing. Those first 3 days came and went and MDEW was the only one to pop up by the 3rd day. People had suggestions beforehand, but we still had absolutely no suggestions for Jazz. I had to change things again in order for the contest to start on time. Then 6 new people came in on the last day, plus other people suggesting things. There was no time to vote. I said what I was going to do, and nobody suggested something else.
The random selection tool was only used because of time. This month, we'll aim to have everything be done by voting.
In the meantime, I'd really like to hear you sing some Nat King Cole. Don't tell me you don't like him if you like Eric Benet
