In the phrase "I come through" you said oi for the word I. In the phrase "we are the champions" you sang champ "yons." Try the eh sound. "Eh come through." "We are the champy - ehns..." it might help the accent, some. Great pitch control and power. And don't worry about botched lyrics. I have forgotten an entire line and just bulled right through it with something else, as long as the melody and rhythm match. Go with the flow.

Deva, please, please, please, I am begging you, please stop beating yourself up. Yes, they are great singers. So are you. But as long as you continue this defeatist self-abusive attitude, you will keep yourself from doing what you want to do.

So, drop the "I'm not worthy" crap. Whatever song you want to sing, you own that song. Sing it like it is yours, in your voice.

devaitis - you're not kidding - that's the best I've heard you! Sounds excellent. You've come a long way and your high stuff sounds real meaty. Just a couple pronunciations - "Champions" at 0:34 sounds like "pee oh ns" - should be "pee ah ns" change the "oh" to "ah". and Friends sounds like "Fr ay ns" should be a little more closed like "Fr eh ns".

I thought it sounded great. Your vocals are strong. And you can't tack your progress by comparing yourself to other vocalists, focus on YOUR voice discouraging yourself is a set back, lack of confidence in yourself as a singer is a set back. It sounded like you're going for it in your recording and that's what I think it takes to be a great vocalist is being confident in your voice and just going for it.

And I'll say that I also noticed the pronunciation of some of the words, I don't know if you have an accent, but it sounds a little like you do and I'd try to lose that in some areas (at least lessen it). And let me tell you, one of my biggest challenges as a singer is pronunciation, I often place accents on words and have a lot of trouble in that area (I pronounce words wrong just while speaking sometimes, haha). My recording of "Beautiful," I got SO frustrated I could scream because I kept pronouncing the word "Beautiful" wrong and had to begin my recording again and again until I finally got it down.
