TMV World Legacy Member MDEW Posted September 1, 2014 TMV World Legacy Member Posted September 1, 2014 I am all for changing a song to make it your own and I applaud your efforts. It sounded like your were trying to channel Leon Redbone in this. I love Redbone as much as I love Cat Stevens but it just did not fit for this song. I could not understand any of the words and the grit along with the slurred words do not work together. Your voice itself does not sound bad. I think you could sing a much better interpretation of this song. "You need a strong foundation to reach the heights."
TMV World Legacy Member Chapman123 Posted September 2, 2014 Author TMV World Legacy Member Posted September 2, 2014 Thanks for your honesty , I agree completely now that I look at it from another perspective.
TMV World Legacy Member MDEW Posted September 3, 2014 TMV World Legacy Member Posted September 3, 2014 Did you have to look up Leon Redbone to understand my post? When I listened to your song there were two other songs by Gabriel Kelley. Were you singing on either of those? Without the grit you sound similer to the guy singing. I have been given the advice to keep to comments on tone and pitch in the review section but I also have problems with tone and style and when something does not CLICK I would rather have someone tell me about it. Singing is as much about delivery as it is with tone and pitch. "You need a strong foundation to reach the heights."
