This is the type of voice that'll make girls weak in the knees! Dude you have amazing falsetto. I feel like you have the down for the most part.

I don't know about all of that, but thank you, lol. I've been using it more lately.

If you like high notes, here's another song where I do it from beginning to end. It was actually my first time seeing the lyrics to this song or hearing it in about 15 years, so I was trying to figure out how to sing it as I progressed. That's actually a good exercise for ear training and pitch.

I have to agree. I don't usually listen to this type of stuff, but those highs are quite sultry.

Nice and smoothe my man, butter with the lows. I can definitely hear the inner Maxwell when you go up in the False.

I see you representing for the Grown Folks' side of R&B. Keep it up.

Your voice is badass, computers vacuuming or not. It sounds effortless as in the timbre is naturally appealing.

You probably have a great speaking voice too.

Thank you. Actually, believe it or not, I actually had a pretty big speech impediment before I started singing. I had a coach that really stressed diction though. He had a really pleasant speaking voice. He had this really proper way of speaking, and it made you think he was from the south, but he wasn't.

Anyways, I naturally really started to work on pronunciation while singing and it also improved my regular conversational speech. Not sure if I'd say my speaking voice is pleasant though. Jens has heard me talk.

I actually just started thinking about making a progress topic. I still have random recordings that I've made over the years since I first started practicing.

That's very interesting. I wasn't referring quite so much to diction so much as there is some kind of timbre or, a resonance that I can imagine being really compelling in almost any circumstance, almost mercurial.

Like you could scoot off into the background and have a perfectly milky blended harmony. Step into the foreground and sing clean, raspy, high, low, falsetto sound great. I could imagine you singing sweet without sounding sappy as there is some kind of underlying substance, sing aggressive without sounding overly harsh as there is a softness or richness. Something there in the overtones.

I'm looking forward to seeing how your voice progresses. I think it would be hard to get rid of that richness and it could really help your versatility. Bono1982 told me awhile back this guy reminded him of my voice:

And you know Daryl Hall is a great singer and it's a compliment, but his timbre isn't top tier to my ears and tastes. There are a lot of singers I'd take above his for timbre preference, and you sound like you have a great foundation.

Thank you again. I was actually just having a discussion with somebody else about rasp. I can do some of it, but I rarely use it. I think I'll start pushing it a little more.

Here's a couple snippets of me experimenting with it. It's a little difficult to sing words clearly when I use it, but that's just because I don't practice it:

And when I mentioned the progress topic, I meant more of a from-nothing-to-something kind of thing where you can see how I went from having bad pitch and having no type of texture to my voice to having vibrato, this deepness that you seem to like and a nice falsetto.

Yeah, you seemed like you had an interesting quality about your voice where it wasn't necessarily something I'd categorize as a "rock" voice or any one specific genre.

I slacked for months and months but I've just started to practice everyday again. I never thought I'd be able to do some of the stuff I can do now at this point in my training. My coach gave me a mixture of classical/gospel training for a couple years as well as piano, so that's where I come from.

Smooth voice G. Sorry it took so long for me to realize you posted this. That falsetto is awesome.

On the ACDC clip your placement almost sounds like an extremely quiet Al Green. If you turned up the volume on that thing, letting it swell in size, I'd be curious where it'd go.

This is one of my dream songs to be able to perform it even half as well as Al would really be a thrill:

I've crashed and burned on many times. But I can hear that slight compression on your falsetto there that sounds similar to what he does but quieter and has a really nice texture to it.

Wow, I really never knew Al Green did stuff like that. I can see more ways regarding how I could make use of something like that now rather than just using it for powerful exclamations.

He's one of my heroes, but I've never gotten quite that kind of timbre in my falsetto. I know it's twangy but never got it dialed in quite with such a nice texture.

I did what you commented on as being a quiet version of Al Green by imitating a duck quack or buzzer sound and manipulating it with twang and breath support. I did it in head voice in that ACDC clip, but yeah, just did it in falsetto and it sounds closer to him.

Thanks a lot. It's always nice to hear something from somebody who recognizes the artist. I guess the grown folks side is right. Every artist that I think of as a major influence was singing during the 90's.

Great singing - that smooth high voice an the vibrato. Many people out there

are gonna like this falsetto of yours.

Thanks a lot. Really pleased to see a lot of people appreciate this. It never was my goal to do anything other than sing for fun, but it's nice to know there's potential for something more.

Re-recorded the song acapella. I wanted to clean up some of the falsetto runs, which were a little sloppy before, and I figured what better time to do it than right after being up all night?

I recorded it in my bathroom, which has some nice acoustics. Also, that humming sound isn't present any longer.
