  1. My new song give it a listen. Forget about technique and pinpointing details listen to it as a song and tell me what you think :) Im very happy about the vocals on this one, and I actualy managed to sound the way I wanted for this song.

If you want please add a comment on youtube and you get a star in my book

Big thanks to marcus for helping me write this song, your an epic friend and musician.

    Cheers

  2. Aww Tommy you shoot me in the heart! ;) All the bad things im trying to save singers from on this forum im actualy doing to you "bad critiquers" youve just made me a hypocrite

Yes ofc ive seen good reviews and posts by Felipe, he can post very educational stuff ive learned a thing or two. Mainly my point is he actualy knows stuff to help people, why not share instead of pointing finger :P

Train and get a teacher is not a tip... It's an universal rule you can apply to everysinger in the entire world...

Comeon isnt his calibre way beyond THAT?

  3. Trust me ive been hitting my fair share of brickwalls been through noumerous teachers who told me i never would be able to sing/let alone sing rocktenor...

Potential = CAN become really good...

The world is gonna end? No mate im not a sensitive guy or afraid of stepping on toes thats also the reason im writing this to you.

I mean you exist on this forum soley to spam on "Not good get a teacher?"? i think thats a shame

Ive been extremly bad, so bad the worst one's on this forum look like superstars in comparison... sometimes words from a good singer/teacher can help loads

But hey i guess our perspective is just miles apart

    Cheers

  4. Im not saying the advice is stupid, im saying it's a nobrainer...

Heck youve got the knowledge, if your gonna write you might aswell sport it, and throw in 1 or 2 vocalclips... Chances are quite big he will pick something up, and getting a teachers is not that easy for everyone...

First off youve gotta have loads of money cause the one's worth having is not that cheap. Most teachers in my area for example have no clue how to teach... They where already good from the start, and they never developed further from that, when their musical career crashed or didnt come they started teaching...

Then you have the Teacher teachers, the one's that built their voice from the scratch they know how to teach, how to build a voice. They usually cost twice as much, and are often only avalible through skype and such, wich also means you have to have a decent computer and great internet.

  5. Felipe... I think thats a stupid way to respond to a voice that atleast to my ears sounds extremly promising...

Specialy since this is coming from you who actualy has knowledge on the voice, and can explain and teach...

Training and a teacher?! Really!? good god it's just that simple?! I would never have known ;)

Benny i think youve got alot of potential in your voice that will become great once the TVS training really kicks in.

cool lowend to your voice :)

    cheers

  6. Well i Said you failed as à teacher wich i still belive you did in that case. Does this mean your à bad teacher? No... I dont belive so, I consider teaching like a skill. À great teacher can make great work with even the worst students, so when you as à teacher says à student dont have "it" is also à reflection of you as a teacher.

    Thats my point :)

  7. I think thats bullshit :) sorry little though love here.

You will NEVER know where a student ends if you dismiss him.

Then youve already failed, hence the cobra Kai joke.

And when à real life situation do come it's not always who youd expect who steps up to the plate...

You may wanna angle it as if they dont have what it "takes". But it is you who failed as a teacher, you couldnt teach that particular student...

It's nothing wrong with that everybody fails sometimes, ive had some students when i was a studying teacher that I couldnt reach how hard I even tried. there probably is some other teacher out there who could have inspired these better than I could. So it's a failure, it's also a teachers "Job" to help people get inspired to give then what it takes

  8. Well thats à way to see it. What i find effective about it is it's alot easyer to take something you did good and apply that to weak parts.

like part A of the song is great in this Singer great emotion and is on pitch

Part b is not that good it's pitchy ect.

It's more powerfull to say part à is really good apply that feeling to part b and youve got à homerun than to say part à is good part b is pitchy ect...

Thats atleast how I feel works best :)

this works i need to do it again

    vs

I did this bad i need to correct it

I find it personaly easyer if i view it from the first way. Both for me and for others

  9. Exactly, it's essential. Lev Vygotsky calls it the: "Zone of proximal development". And Kierkegaard emphasizes it's importance:

    It's didactics at its core.

yes and the sad part that this is true. Didactics is littered with this, stating the obvious Throw in some Fancy words make sound like youve made it up... Most important is à lastname noone can pronunce...

In order to teach, you must know more and start from the level they are at... Omg i did it with only one sentence!

ive read didactics when i studied to teacher felt like à mage from hogwarts...

"When one's under the temper of a female turn around or forever be embraced by the flames"

    (kierkegaardner)

"When the womens give you attitude drop it like it's hot"

    -Snoop dog

  10. The thing is, if you keep it straight and only add vibrato at chosen spots it becomes more powerfull and the vibrato and sensitivity comes to it's full right.

Now you add vibrato to like everything, this kindo cancels out all the things you can use to your advantage.

It's like, i would personaly add that vibrato t the words id Wanna stand out in à text.

All words are not equally important in à text, use vibrato on the words you consider most important.

And the reason you Wanna do it sparingly is because youd probably Wanna kick it up a notch in the end chourus and similar.

Listen to this, notice how smart he uses vibrato and how it Adds to the emotion of the song

  11. Yeah the mixing isnt the best but il overlook it :) this is alot better Than the lastone i heard. Alot of sensitivity in your voice.

Youve got your thing, i think it's cool. Personaly what i think would take this to the next level would be toning it down abit. Youve got this waver in your voice wich makes it very vunerable and emotional, I would NOT get rid of that. But if you refined the use of it and used more sparingly youve got à very powerful tool for your singingthere.

This is an example how i would have used that quality of yours(if i had it)

The ones that are not in versals i would keep straight no waver/supervibrato or swelling.

    you are someone I LOVE(waver+vibrato)

you are someone I must FIND(vibrato)

because I cannot WIN(waver) without your love

    I cannot SEE(waver), your eyes,

    unclear to me every NIGHT(vibrato+waver)

What youve got is very special, but i would treat it as an Soprano high C. It's supercool and impressive, but if you show it to much or do it in every song youve got it loses it's "magic" and if you use it in the right spots and on the right words youll bring people to tears.

Please if you get any free time try this out cheers

  12. Thanks Felipe :) the reason i belive so is because it's so good damn easy you rob people of the most important singingskill...

Confidence... Ive seen singers with gooddamn near perfect technique Throw whole recordingsessions away because they where pitchy in à fewspots wich people commented.

Started to compensate, and then tensions creep in.., you know the rest.

Also the reason for the socalled "diva" singers, i belive they have to think that High of thenselves to be able to perform that way.

    Cheers

  13. Yes honesty is desirable, but not as desirable as good results. You can ALWAYS choose to see the good in things instead of the bad. And focus on that, this works wonders...

even the worst singer can make something good, id still focus on that.

Ive been extremly bad, couldnt hear any diffrence between pitches and no rythm plus à weak voice.

if id heard the truth then i wouldnt be on this forum today... Instead people pushed my strenghts and im so grateful for that today.
