Overall this sounded good, Singingnewbie, nice mixed voice here, great technique. As Jug is saying you could put more effort, more chest in it but it is a stylistic choice and this kind of singing would be more easy to sing live i think. To my ears, but they are not trustworthy , the chorus sounded a little out of key but i could be wrong.

Nice interpretation, MDEW, i loved this. Your recordings sounds great, got a "live" feeling in them.

And i love your effort here, it sounded killer, Keith! Actually this is my favourite song of the last album after "Enigma Machine", a total contrast but then i have a very broad taste when it comes to music.

The Crimson Glory cover - Wow, amazing, it fits your raspy tone. I could kill to get that kind of raspy tone. My rasp is a little different and comes with tons of support, i use the false folds i think, you feel your rasp in the soft pallate, right? The "Open Arms" cover was good too, but i didn´t like it as much. I think it was because you used more of a "shouting" mode in the chorus, the "come" and "open" sounded more like Overdrive than Curbing if we use the terms of CVI. I could be wrong. The soft tones sounded killer. Great Job! BTW have you done a "Painkiller" cover, Enander? I would love to hear that.

A couple of shaky high notes but overall it sounded very good, Cool ending with that echo.

Yes, this is a challenging song, Keith, you did a good job. Some high notes in the chorus sound great and some not so great. Like in for example 1:30 there is a good supported twanged note. Strive for that.

I got a little tired of singing alot of takes on one song so now i just sing a song, go with the feeling not thinking so much about technique or pitch. I made a video and i have some bad habits i think. Well, feel free to critique anything you notice. I have one video without music and one with but since i couldn´t erase Rob´s vocals totally i think it is a little distracting and therefore adding the accapella version too.

Gneetap, maybe i should clarify myself. When i say falsetto-ish i don't mean that the tone is airy, just tiny and too heady.

It sounds a little too falsetto-ish yet on the high notes, Gneetap. But you could hit these notes and that is a big advantage. You just need to change the configuration a bit, get a more fuller sound. Good job!

I think it sounded very good. No strain, a great metal voice. I don´t know Igor, many metal singers sound operatic - Bruce Dickinson, Rob Halford to mention a few.

Thanx for listening, The Aspiring Singer. Yes, there is a reference so it is easy to emulate without noticing it. But i think this is close to my natural voice, my speaking voice is low - i think i am a low baritone which i think Elvis also is if not a bass. My own guess is that the vibrato is wobbly due to unsufficient support but i could be wrong. It would be interesting to add a hard rock sound to it - some rasp, maybe i will do it some day

Thanx for listening MDEW and Gneetap! I am not used to sing a whole song this low so it was a new experience for me, sometimes i think i run out of air and lose the vibrato. I am always having fun when i sing btw. I think i will give it a try again even though i prefer to sing hard rock.

Great interpretation, George! I think you are spot on regarding your own analysis.

I have seen Maiden live 4 times in the 90's and the 20's and everytime there were 3 songs that stood out where the audience went nuts - those songs were "Run To The Hills" "Fear Of The Dark" and "The Trooper". I, personally, have many favourites - i have tried to sing and here posted"Powerslave" Rime Of The Ancient Mariner" "Deja Vu" "Run To The Hills" "Aces High" and "The Trooper i beleive. This time i hadn't sing "Run To Hills" for a year and was curious to see whether or not i had made any improvement.

Congratulations, Gneetap, you are definately on the right track! In some places it sounds very good and in some places a little pitchy. With more practise you will nail this song soon.

I think it sounded good overall. Take my advice with a grain of salt i am no expert. But the tone in some places is a little too quacky - maybe you could try and replace some of that quackiness with more of a crying sound to get you through the passagio. At least i had some success with that.

Sounded good, Keith! Your voice is still not totally connected in the upper range but it is getting better by each effort. Keep working! You sing alot of Kamelot stuff it seems. Good choice this band is great.
