TMV World Legacy Member Sound26 Posted January 4, 2013 TMV World Legacy Member Share Posted January 4, 2013 Hi guys, I'm still working away on my singing technique. I've been trying to have more fun with it lately. I couldn't find any ocean sound effects but I did try a Beatles style three part harmony for the chorus. Any comments or suggestions for improvement would be greatly appreciated. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10813900/Yellow%20Submarine.mp3
TMV World Legacy Member ronws Posted January 5, 2013 TMV World Legacy Member Share Posted January 5, 2013 I liked it, Sound. I like Beatles' music, too. And I liked the balance of voice against the guitar. Neither one was overpowering. And I liked the country feel to the strumming of the guitar. This was a little less "marching band" than the original, so, good for you for a slightly different feel on the same meter. The only thing I might suggest is that just a few times, I could hear dipthongs, where the vowel sound changed during a note. For example, in some places people say sound as "say-ound," which belies an accent. So, aesthetically, I might prefer "sah-uond" but then, again, "say-ound" probably fits better with a country music feel. I don't know if that was your intention but it certainly fits the genre. So, no, not a technical problem with this. Just something to keep an eye if you decide to do it in a different genre, some day, like grinding heavy metal or beat heavy r & b.
