TMV World Legacy Member MDEW Posted November 4, 2013 TMV World Legacy Member Share Posted November 4, 2013 Just 2nd verse and Chorus. I just cannot make that A4 sound decent. I know this is a short clip but maybe you can spot the problem. https://soundcloud.com/user898702554/iris-practice "You need a strong foundation to reach the heights." TMV World Legacy Member Keith Posted November 4, 2013 TMV World Legacy Member Share Posted November 4, 2013 Sounds like you are shouting to try to get more power into that note. I sing it " and I daa waaaaa the world to see me" to get the placement right . Then "and I daaahnt waaaaant" (adding in the ends of the words). sounds silly, but it worked for me. www.drop-head.com
TMV World Legacy Member MDEW Posted November 4, 2013 Author TMV World Legacy Member Share Posted November 4, 2013 Thanks Keith, I was trying all kinds of different things to get this better. Even when I do keep connected I still have that shrill sound in there. I would start low and siren up to A4 on Ah....... Still when I get to the note it sounds like this. "You need a strong foundation to reach the heights."
TMV World Legacy Member Keith Posted November 4, 2013 TMV World Legacy Member Share Posted November 4, 2013 Just find the right vowel man, and you'll get it. Also, sometimes it helps to siren down, instead of up. www.drop-head.com
TMV World Legacy Member ronws Posted November 5, 2013 TMV World Legacy Member Share Posted November 5, 2013 Keith is right, you have to sing it, not speak it. And singing is about the cleaner vowel sound.
