  1. You got my attention there… You have a raw talent, you can do any genre of music you set your mind on. I checked all of your songs and was a bit shocked by the power of your voice. Yes there are pitch and timbre issues, but the bottom line is… if you had been in a studio with someone to let you know while your record and if you had the time to do as many takes as you need to get it perfect it would sound every bit as good as any professional singer out there. Well done Enander! Please PM me as I'd like to get the raw tracks for Battle Angels - please. Cheers, Than PS. Painkiller is boring ? Ts ts ts ts … the youth of today. Just kiddn'
  2. Ron, thanks a lot for taking the time to listen! I'm glad you liked it, I was really apprehensive about this one but your comment really helped me with my confidence! Thanks again! Than
  3. Hey all, I did this cover (vocals & instruments). Let me know what you think about the vocal performance. Cheers, Than
  4. Thanks for taking the time to check it out Jag. I am glad we agree it's head voice and not falsetto. I guess I must be more confident about getting my voice more clear in the mix rather than "hide" it because of my vocal insecurity. BTW. Here's the file I sent to Jag, where you can hear exactly what the voice sounds like https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B97RQZaQ5pW5U1p0Y1g4SW40OEE/view?usp=sharing
  5. Jag, thanks for replying. I am not sure if this is falsetto (the King Diamond high pitched sound). In the room it sounds like a powerful raspy head voice. I'll try to send you a portion of the vocal track for you to listen to and tell me. In all honesty though, I don't think there is any way I can get more meat up there - I know other people can - especially the piece "about to explode", that's the top of my range nowadays. But I agree with you about not "hitting" the notes straight away, I could - and should have- taken more time to get them right but it's an honest performance, it's what I can do any day. In the meantime, I'll work on compressing/conserving air more and try to add some more meat in there, assuming that's your advice ? Many thanks for your opinion and suggestions! Than
  6. Hey Here's Metal Meltdown by Judas Priest, in its original key. I did the vocals, played bass & guitar & produced it. My good friend Anthimos Manti did the solo and Jo Doe programmed the drums (info below). Let me know what you think Cheers, Than PS. Here's a link to the DIs if you want to use them to sing over : https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B97RQZaQ5pW5RkxvcGdXa2R3RXM&usp=sharing If you use the raw files and/or mix, please copy&paste the following credits Guitars, Bass & Vocals by OGrego (https://www.facebook.com/ogregomixmaster?ref=hl) Solo by Anthimos Manti https://www.facebook.com/anthimos.manti https://twitter.com/anthimos_manti Drums by Jo Doe https://www.facebook.com/jo.doe.507?fref=ts https://www.facebook.com/pages/Necrorgasm/127894477296164?fref=ts http://www.necrorgasm.com
  7. Thanks bzean, I'm glad you liked the vocals. I could definitely make them stick out more, but the vocal performance didn't exactly thrill me, hence the mixing decision.
  8. Same here Ron. It's hard to keep up with everything but I do try to visit or post when time permits. Glad you liked it! Cheers, Than
  9. Hey all, It's been a long time. I've produced this for a friend who recorded the guitars/bass & programmed the drums (credits below) Although it's played in a lower key, I added some vocals, so feel free to let me know what you think. If anyone wants to play around with this, here is the link to the DIs & Drum Midi: DIs : https://drive.google.com/folderview?...UU&usp=sharing If you do use them, please copy and paste the following as credits : Recorded by Jo Doe https://www.facebook.com/jo.doe.507?fref=ts https://www.facebook.com/pages/Necro...296164?fref=ts http://www.necrorgasm.com and ogregomixmaster.net https://www.facebook.com/ogregomixmaster?ref=hl http://www.ogregomixmaster.net https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpr...ebgu5PA/videos
  10. This is crazy good… I haven't been following the forum or your posts but you sound like a natural born singer. Both performances sound incredible and even if the Crimson Glory is a bit raw, it's still a 100 times better than what most people can do. If you recorded the backing track by yourself for the Crimson Glory, would you mind sharing the raws ? Cheers, Than
  11. That's really cool of you DJ, thanks. I need to study this, Eric's voice can be very intimidating... Cheers, Thanasis
  12. I was right, wasn't I ? Not many can sing Eric Adams and you managed to both approach his tone in parts and put your own stigma while sounding awesome at all times. You think you could share the backing to give it a go sometime in the future ? And Ron, don't worry man, just the fact that you thought it could be me is an honor (I wish lol) You are a very gifted singer DJ Thanos
  13. Jaw on the floor and staying there. Need I say more ? Thanasis
  14. Geno, good to read a comment from you, I am very content that you found Astronomica cool, you know how I value your opinion and singing. The distortion ; a long long time ago I had posted a clip named "hurting" distortion. It is that same distortion only now I can control it. It might tickle ever so slightly but it does not limit my range or tire me at all as long as I keep and focus on the bright (ping/sharp/piercing) clean sound underneath. If I let go of that, I am still ok but after a couple of songs I may start feeling my range being limited, chocking etc If I let go, it feels like it "falls" inside my throat and just grinds the folds. Not sure what type of distortion it is but I can safely say that I have managed to control it by practicing vocal fry across my range and by always using it (vocal fry NOT the distortion), even when I talk. This is what changed everything for me and what made my head voice be free of strain etc etc Once that was under (some) control and I focused on singing with it (even if it sounded breathy in the passaggio and above), I increased twang (take into account that I had been practicing Lugo's "wich cackle" for a long long time) and managed to add just a bit of that distortion without it hurting me. I took it from there and I can feel my voice developing. Even my pitch (I know I still have issues) is now easy to control or at least... control is meaningful in the sense that I feel I am actually doing something. All in all, this voice is the exact opposite of my 15 year old practice in singing. In that official queensryche thread, I saw that Keith posted an example of my old version and I posted one with the new voice. I can do this much better and I would like to do an acceptable version using my old way (which is fully clean), the new voice clean and then with this distortion. I have to admit that adding chest voice is still an issue and I have yet to discover how to add this distortion to chest voice. Some of my examples might sound chesty (like the "tell me now what do you see" part in intro of the first astronomica clip) but I am still confused as to what I can do and how to develop it. Time is a huge issue and I have very little, if any, to spend on singing and practicing. One last thing, I cannot express how loud, resonant and powerful it sounds in the room (or with a band) yet it is an effortless sound. To bad I can't capture it as well as it sounds due to poor room acoustics. I hope I've shed some light and I apologize for the long post Cheers, Thanasis
  15. I am not familiar with the original but the point here is not to compare. I enjoyed the singing immensely, it was a joy from the beginning, I think that this piece really suits your voice Ron. I liked how you go from low to high and your voice just flows, no sign of strain whatsoever. Great singing Thanasis
  16. And here's a heavier (I guess more distoorted and a bit less "heady" sounding) version of Astronomica : https://app.box.com/s/9qykxthujle6olreteol Any ideas ? Cheers, Thanasis
  17. Xam, this would have been excellent with an acoustic guitar. I cannot hear any pitch issues (though I am a bit "dyslexic" when it comes to pitch as you can hear from my samples). It's a light, yet absolutely acceptable interpretation of the song. A very refreshing approach Cheers, Thanasis
  18. Thank you very much Chavie. I am glad I can almost sing nowadays. If you get a minute, could you please tell me what the negative points of the other 2 tracks were ? Thank you, Than
  19. I couldn't agree more Ron. The thing is, I had never been able to sing any song without my voice faltering or without it shaking etc I can finally sing a note without having to worry too much about that. I have to admit my voice is a bit tired now so I am going to give it a day's rest or so before I record anything again, although I think I should give it a longer rest. The good thing is that I am not hoarse or anything, it just feels like it is not ready to give 100%. Thanks for that Ron Thanasis
  20. Another song added : The Other Side of Midnight : https://app.box.com/s/ik9bq3eyiwqggy5kocta
  21. Great performance Keith, do you find that you are now using head voice more regularly ?
  22. This is G4 to A4 ? Why aren't you straining ? Just kiddin' This piece suits your voice like a glove and it sounds so damn effortless I would have never guessed it was that high. I don't have any words man, I love the twang in your voice, the ever so slight "covered" sound, it's just perfect. How much time did you spend working on it, especially compression and support-wise ? Cheers, Thanasis
  23. Hey Jonpall, it's been a long time, thank you for listening and for your comment, I appreciate it a lot. Cheers, Thanasis
  24. Your voice is incredible DJ, but you already know that. Now when is that Manowar cover coming ? Thanasis
  25. Thank you Ron, and by all means keep giving me your opinion, a different perspective is what I need. Here's Astronomica with a "connected" intro. https://app.box.com/s/jd3m8yr2ajyso1ykkjfn Also, the phrase "streched beyond the limits down into the unknown" is connected with distortion and the second part of the "chorus" (worlds spinning....), one voice is the distorted one and the second is full voice now. Jagulator, is it any better now ? Any advice ? Ron, I'm glad you liked War of the Worlds as it is now, I couidn't even hit the notes in the verses a year ago. Not the high ones, the low ones. I couldn't do it to save my life and now I'm "pressing" on them with ease. By "heavier" in astronomica, do you mean a similar voice to the verses of war of the worlds ? Not sure I can do that as it is deceptively high but I'd like to ask if the phrase ""streched beyond the limits down into the unknown" is more to your taste. Cheers guys and by all means, please help out, my enemy is stagnation, not honesty. Thanasis EDIT : I had posted the wrong link, it is now fixed
