Definitely stepping in the right direction. Now you are not crashing end notes on the siren, which I think is a great improvement. And nice to hear your progress applied to "Black Hole Sun." That song sounds good in your voice and you should keep it as both a song to have in your "set list" and as a benchmark to measure your progress. In the end, even as good as your sirens get, the song is the thing.

Robert's advice, regarding one of the resistance workouts, worked. I have managed to get more consistent and powerful A4's, and sometimes A#4's. It seems that putting notes after A4 "back into the throat" more helps immensely with stability and power.

Another breakthrough today. I think I've gained greater control over the CT muscle, and was overusing the TA muscle before, effectively making my higher notes belts rather than head tones. I was able to go up to a C5 briefly without resorting to using a quacky-sounding, falsettoish, noise.

    ... do you think?
In regards to rhythm... here is the best firkin advise I can give you... listen up.
Stop counting music in quarter note tempo / meter... and start counting all music into 8ths.  "1&2&3&4&..."   Add the "&"... Without 8th notes, you have no syncopation and without syncopation, you have NO GROOVE!  Students that count only in quarter notes, have shitty rhythm and cues. Students that learn to sub-divide into 8ths and accent the syncopated, upbeat 8th, begin to get their rhythm tight and groove on... try it... you'll see... great rhythm starts by... locking in upbeat 8ths.

I've finally started to make my head voice sound good. I managed to find the coordination today (might have been using the horizontal embouchure) that allowed me to sing a solid A4 and A#4 on a couple of occasions. Unfortunately, I couldn't consistently produce these notes with the same quality heard in the recording.

I've already posted my praise for Robert and TFPOS, but I'll do it again in this thread. The program is great and provides virtually everything you need to know about singing, and how to do it. The extent of detail into which the TVS methodology goes into explaining the purpose of exercises and how singing works is astounding, and far beyond what you would normally encounter from a voice coach and/or vocal program. I have improved a bunch since I started practicing with TFPOS, and still have so much to learn. I can tell that Robert is truly passionate about teaching for the sake of knowledge and the success of his students, which really shows that he will do his best to ensure that you get the guidance and help you need to become a great singer. Thank you Robert, for opening my eyes not only about how to sing, but also what it means to be a singer.

you dont have to "quit" something just because it doesnt come easily and you dont have to quit just because you wont be a star overnight. Sometimes you just have to take your time and look into it a little bit
ANYONE can sing to one degree or another and maybe you are just missing something basic like decent breathing or something similar?

Many people told me I cant sing or play guitar etc....but I cant quit because I suck at gaming too...so im stuck.

Nice work, muffin. And Robert is right about jumping into things.
I'll be posting in my progress thread very soon so you'll have somebody else posting progress regularly with you.

Probably I would disagree with your mother. Then, again, I am on the highway to Hell. Keep the lofty goals. Read the tag in my posts. "Winners never quit." Notice that it does NOT say that winners never fail. Winners fail all the time. Probably moreso than quitters. Because they don't quit. They keep trying and failing until they succeed and win.
There is no proof that I know of that singing softly will improve your singing. Gaining control and consistency through training will improve singing, whether it is soft or loud. You may not sound polished and professional now but you will. How many times did Mikael Baryshnikov fall before he could dance on air? There was probably a time in his life when someone thought, "man, that guy moves like four flat tires on a muddy road."

    Hey again,
I did some sirens with a track and release onset today. What is going on when I switch to that different, less powerful tone, after G4? My larynx is shoved up into my throat when I use this tone. Also, why am I experiencing some cracking and other weird noises when I ascend and descend the sirens?

I've had the program for about 3 days. Are you saying that it's OK to start full speed ahead with bronchitis? I actually want to start training, but have held myself back from doing so because I don't want to injure my voice in the process; that's why I haven't done any heavy vocalizing since I got TFPOS. That's the whole issue. I'm not a procrastinator, that's one thing I want to make clear. I will practice 1-2 hours a day 5 or so times a week, but am worried about singing while sick. Let me know your thoughts on this.

Sounds like you are on the right track, good and solid. I could pay you the compliment others have paid me. You have an A4 that sounds free and easy, like you live there.

Preview the contents of the program, Whatch the videos and pay attention. There are a lot of insights that will get you ready mentally when you are ready physically to stat the training.
You may not be ready to do a full blown exercise but there are some onsets that you can work on without getting too physical with them.
Good luck and I hope get well soon.

So I just got the program today, and will pursue it throughout the summer, posting my progress here. I did some track and track exercises today, and I can tell I have quite a bit to work on. My voice is also quite bad right now, as I think I have bronchitis, so I'll keep the singing/vocalization to a minimum until I get fully better, and won't post anything new until my voice is back at 100%, but I can post this siren I did a while back when I wasn't ill. I hope you guys can give me some feedback
