It was released in 1980, when I was 15 years old. The singer was Paul Di'Anno. He didn't last very long with Maiden. They re-recorded it with Bruce Dickinson on vocals 1988, and Metallica did a (poor) cover at some point. Anyway, I don't sound like Di'Anno or Dickinson, I just sound like me - which is something I have come to accept All the instruments on this were played (or programmed in the case of drums) by my friend Tony Rhodes, who lays down an amazing guitar solo around 1'58. Tony tells me has about 40 Iron Maiden covers in various stages of completion all needing vocals. I not sure how much stamina I've got. I think I'll try at least one Dickinson era song though, perhaps "Run To The Hills" if he's done that one..! George can often be found playing electric stringy things, and singing... The vocals were right on the mark. Nothing wrong as far as what I hear...really good job. Nailed it. Run to The Hills is definitely something I'd like to hear.
