  1. George - Sounds really good! It's refreshing to take a complete new direction sometimes. I think the vocals are recorded very well and you sound consistent with nice tone the whole way through. I like how you've mixed and effected the main vocals, and the BGV's sound great. Nice job. Will be cool to hear once you've finalized the instrumentation.
  2. Martin - If I remember correctly I really liked the Evita performance you showed us. I beleive that was the one where you had some cool overdirve tones. And I assume you're talking about Freddie Mercury?
  3. Foreinger - Your singing is very good. You are very much sounding like a classical singer. Nice legato and good breath support and great vowels. You have a nice pleasant tone and effortless vibrato. If you want to stay in this genre I'd say just keep on doing what you're doing.
  4. Martin - Thanks for the explanation. I thought the "Stay" was the "eh" vowel, but like you said, it's the "ih" vowel (or a derivative of it) which is curbing. Owen - Thank you. No matter how much I try to emulate Perry, it ends up sounding like me! berniemcpeak - The link works as well as it can for Soundclick. There are some issues with Soundclick though which is frustrating. I find if you're using a mobile device it doesn't always work. Also, I was in Italy once, and my friend tried to pull up Soundclick on her PC and it crashed her system! You could try googling "Soundclick Geno Plitt" and then navigating to my list of songs. This song will be at the very end of the list. Opaa: Thank you for the nice comments! I'm glad you like it.
  5. What would your natural voice sound like? Do you have some favorite singers that have influenced your natural style?
  6. Martin - Thanks for the comments. Yeah, curbing is my normal mode. I try to emulate Perry, but I get fatigued very quickly when trying to match some of his vowels. It's like the impedance is wrong. So I resigned to do what feels comfortable to me. I had a couple questions. I tried to start out the verses in Neutral "Lying beside you..." very light mass. Does that sound like Neutral in the verses? Also, at 3:29 "Stay". It feels very bright and metallic and powerful. Can you tell me what mode that is? It feels like curbing, but it isn't really a curbing vowel?
  7. ronws and MDEW - thanks a lot. I really appreciate your feedback and support.
  8. Thanks Validar. Glad you liked the guitar and drums. I used to be a huge DT freak and when I arrange songs I'm always thinking "now how would DT approach this song?". Of course those guys are on a totally different level than me but it's fun to try.
  9. Marting - Excellent job as always. How long does it take you to learn a new part with all the songs for a show like this? And do you ever have any nights that are better / worse? Or are you pretty consistent with all performances?
  10. Here's my version of Open Arms, which I used to work on lighter mass singing that Daniel has been talking about. I'm feeling much more comfortable after 6 months of practicing this technique. I added the new "bridge section / 3rd chorus" that Journey created on the 2013 tour. This gave me the opportunity to rework the last chorus and belt out some higher notes. Any and all feedback / suggestions are welcome! http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=12533215
  11. Excellent job! You've got a huge voice and it sounds awesome.
  12. Nice job! You've got a great voice - great expression - great style! You're switching between women's chest / head / mix seamlessly on some pretty tricky phrases.
  13. Very Cool MDEW! This might be the first time I heard you. You've got a great voice and style. It's funny so much time setting up the equipment and uploading! Aint that the truth sometimes! We get sucked into spending so much time on technical stuff (as opposed to creative stuff). This song fits your style well. Nice vibrato, nice tone, very clear, and good pitch.
  14. Nice job! One of my fav DT songs. Great tone especially on some of the high notes. Well, of course you know about some of the pitch issues, but so what? It wasn't like you were giving a concert. You delivered a lot of great high "money notes" which overshadow any of the pitch issues.
  15. You sound really good on the chorus and the higher notes when you are going for it. Nice tone and nice expression. The thing is that both verses are suffering pitch problems and rhythm problems. The very first couple of lines in the song are extremely important to get right, otherwise you can put off the listener. There are just a few - but important spots - where you are going sharp in pitch, and getting ahead of yourself in rhythm (rushing) - in both verses. If you work to eliminate those issues, the performance should come together nicely.
  16. Sounds good to me on the lower notes. Nothing wrong with that - you deliver the song well. It shouldn't matter.
  17. Sounds reall good! I like the heavier weight in your voice on this tune. And in the chorus on "woa" when you take it up to Ab4 Overdrive - sounds very cool. You're voice fits this song and this genre very well. Good luck with this opportunity.
  18. Excellent job! Not sure what you could do to improve this performance. Terrific tone and style.
  19. Sounds great Ana. You have a nice natural voice and it seems you're doing a lot of things right. I would say keep on working on songs that you like. Is there anything you'd like to improve upon? Something that you wish you could do a better job at?
  20. Sounds really nice. Your voice has a nice clear quality to it. Your phrasing is good. At the end you are singing in falsetto. Is that what you want? Or do you want to singing that in a stronger head voice?
  21. Fantastic man. Really great stuff. Very inspiring. Do you have a record deal?
  22. Really liked it. You've got a nice smooth style. Excellent job on those high notes at the end. You're doing everything right from a technical standpoint. Nice recording quality with that ipad.
  23. Excellent job on that! Especially the high notes. Very impressive.
  24. Sounds great George. I like the mix you're getting. Guitars are EQ'd nicely. Nice chord progressions and arrangement. Vocals sound really good.
