My take on this nice song, with my own little twist, let me know how it sounds.

Since I can´t play the guitar to save my life, this will have to do

Speaking as a big fan of Dio, this does not sound great at all. Take lessons!

Thank you guys
@Robert Lunte Dio in this era was a monster, on Rising in special, its absurd!
@aravindmadis Thank you bro, I think one of the things the track is missing is Blackmore playing, the other is Dio singing . haha but the dynamics on this track are a bit (*auto edit*) up, the guitar playing is a bit too stiff, it all sounds "harder" than it should and I ended up doing the same with the vocals. Probably a bit of delay and extra reverb could help indeed.

Someone screaming my name
Come and make me, holy again!

Very nice man, reminds me a bit of Muse and 30 sec to mars. Gonna listen to it more closely next days, sounds very tasteful, full of dynamics .

Hello Ryan,
I´ve listened to a few clips, Coldplay and James Blunt. There are some technical issues, but what is really getting in your way right now is rhythm and melody, you are kinda going blindfolded at the songs it seems.
Listen more to these songs, pay attention to the tempo of the phrasing, notice which parts the singer uses a more "connected" sound (no pause between notes), and the more rhythimic parts (strong marking to the beat, longer pauses).
Perhaps sit down on a piano or keyboard, and map the whole melody as reference. In my opinion its where you will see most improvement from what you are doing now.
For these songs you might want to get a bit lighter handed, I don´t mind the more aggressive approach but most people won´t enjoy it so much.

I agree with the others and well done. To me, your voice was meant for this song and vice versa, even if it was written for another voice.
Thank you ronws!!

Felipe, I am a huge Angra fan and love all 3 of the band. Anything Andre Matos sings is usually in the high range and sounds really difficult.
With that being said, this was an amazing cover of a really tough song. You did an outstanding job.
Thank you bro, and sorry for not seeing your reply sooner!

Gonna think of something!

Im not much of a fan of theater songs, but this one has a very beautiful melody line and points that call for a bit more of punch (and that I can just let go and sing all out) very fun study!

Little up, mix updated, some new tricks applied (and melody corrected) .

I like it bro, voice relaxed, secure delivery, that's it, singing :). Very pleasant to listen and cool interpretation.

@aravindmadis and @ronws Thanks folks! Received some very positive feed on this one .

Thank you aravin!! Its helpful to know, the songs are similar in many ways. I think I will change Clairvoyant this weekend then, looking forward for your opinion.
BTW bro.
You remember the Raga's theory you sent my way right? I am looking for some manner of experimenting more with that, but other than my voice I don't really have an instrument capable of producing a quarter step like some of those modes need. I was thinking of some virtual instrument but honestly I don't know where to start looking, do you have any tips in that regard?
-
haha wait @JonJon I think I understand you now, and yes you are right its different.
I was under the impression you were saying I was pronouncing the word "I" incorrectly, as if the word itself had a different pronunciation. What you are describing are interpretation resources, and sometimes accents, I understand that and you are dead on, it makes a huge difference on the interpretation.
This song and interpretation are with me for a while, so I don't quite remember how I planned this, but there are some differences indeed, some on purpose, some not (this one you mentioned I am almost sure its not haha). The chorus is geared much more towards the original line, I remember that.
Thank you for taking your time and explaining what you meant, and for the careful listening, its very useful .

I didn't find anything wrong about the phrasing man, to me it seems you are doing it in a rather good way for the song. Its those very high points of the melody that take a bit away, try to think of changing your voice, go very bright on them, even nasal, its too high to make any difference and will help making it more free.
I asked about the breath because it seems to me (and this is thinking of all your songs, both what is working and what is not), that you often know and do the positions you need to do, but you end up a bit short on energy, or, some instabilities appear as if you had very, very little margin for error. Usually this is related to breath support and how you organize it. If you feel its worthwhile hit me on skype sometime and lets check what you are doing with more detail. skype name is felipevoxcarvalho

Hi @JonJon thanks for the reply man.
Not sure I follow on the diphthong thing haha, either its AH or I, isn't it? Are you saying I am doing something different from both? As far as I am aware, I and eye are homophones isn't that so? (not my native language so I want to understand!)
I love the versions from these two guys (as you may imagine), but I also the original, there is a blend going on most likely!
Again thanks for your words!

Thank you aravin! Its always good to have feedback from someone that knows the originals so well.
Can you review my singing covers please?
