  1. Thank you Xamedhi, it's weird as i was just commenting on your post at the same time. That's a great and challenging song (it's DT for god sake!!!LOL!) and you really did it justice.:D
  2. This is great Buddy. I really think you probably already know the only part that needs work. On the high part you have got the pitch comfortably but I just needs that extra support blending the chest. what happens when you just go for it on the higher parts do you find you still break in the "mix" section?
  3. Amazing! its a small world I geuss. It's my favourite place outside of London for sure and next time i go it will be my 10th visit amazingly. I'll be sure to let you know Validar. Same to you if you ever cross the pond to the UK buddy.
  4. I cant believe i've never seen this before, sorry if you have. Does this guy seem familiar?:lol:
  5. Thank you guys for watching and taking time out to comment it is much appreciated. It's a big thing for me to work on as im definatly a bit of a shoe gazer unless i've got a drink in me Your visualisation idea Validar, i'm gonna use that. By the way I see your in Orlando, have you been to the open mic at On The Rocks downtown? I was there in April and played a couple songs but wow there is some real talent in that town!
  6. What you did with this spoke to me Buddy and at the end of the day thats what this is all about communication. absolutely, you can speak in a key. You had a connection with the music a for the most part your pitch was on. Just run with it! Try to lose the cough in the middle of a performance though :P
  7. Well drinking Corona is not going to help Your right its tiffany as in the store Tiffany & Co. one small thing that may help you is that you seem to be blowing out a lot of air on each phrase and even just some individual words so something you can try is the feeling of holding your breath. you will find that you will feel more of a connection to your diaphragm as you sing the lines this way followed by releasing low when you have to take a breath. Don't forget to keep an open throat. just my two cents. J
  8. I think you sound on the right track for sure. seems like your well connected through the bridge. The only thing that may help is for you not to put on a voice for singing. It sounds a bit like that to me and to be honest it only gets in the way of freeing up your voice. You seem to be concerned with trying to make your voice to sound a certain way to make it sound better, when the truth is that nothing sounds better and allows the listener in more than your natural voice. That works for me anyways, good luck Mbacon3  Good luck.
  9. This song sounds so pro Chavie and i definitely think its worth finishing (in fact you would be mad not too!!). The only think I didn't like was all the reverb on the rhythm guitars. Kind of made them sound a bit of a mess when some real chunk would add to the groove but thats just imo. Do you perform live with a band?
  10. I think you got the sound spot on buddy. Just get out there and do it with confidence. Remember a big aspect of punk is not giving a S**t, so don't forget that when someone seems like they doubt you.
  11. Thanks Ron i'm glad you think it's acceptable. you know i really love Ozzy's voice. I can understand why some people don't like it as it seems basic in some ways but I think it's really surprisingly underrated. You are always a wealth of Knowledge buddy I actually really enjoy all the Sabbath incarnations with Dehumanizer, Headless cross, and even Seventh Star being among my favs but honestly imo they shouldn't be called Black Sabbath records but it's interesting from the point you made that it's not always down to the artist. there was probably huge pressure for them to keep the sabbath name on releases throughout.
  12. My band has been asked to cover this song at our gig on thursday so thought i'd have a quick go to the backing track. I think it sounds ok, but what do you guys think? Does it have enough of the Ozzy vibe to get us through? what could be better? Thanks guys
  13. Owen, Your not one of these people who think we didn't really land on the moon are you? j/k Thanks for your comment. Since it's come up a few times and to dispel any potential accusations (not that there is really anything that unusual about forcing your voice up to A5) here is my acapella vocal track only from the CIT recording. Warts and all lol. No EQ, Comp, Limiter or even Reverb so nowhere to hide. As I had stated before, on the final section the mic was clipping and I think it is quite clearly audible but you can also see from the waveform that that is the case. Thanks again Ron. Geno, i cant wait to hear yours ive not heard a recording of yours i don't like buddy.
  14. You must have better system than me Owen, as having anything open for me when using the sequencer causes problems, you will see even from the vids I upload that an upgrade is badly needed Any artificial sound to the A5 i think is just coming from a the limiter plugin. My volume at the end was quite unexpected and the mic definitely clipped, in fact you can really hear that the last one is the best as i stepped back a bit from the mic but you end up hearing more of the room. I enjoyed the overall feel of it however, so just went with it. Anything your not so keen on Robert? any small tips or pointers please?
  15. I know this is an old thread but HOLY S**T this was amazing! This is like "Down on the Upside" era Cornell singing Audioslave which to be honest is a dream for me. well done Analog you win the internet
  16. Thanks Ron, i'd love to say that I meant to sound like that but I think the degradation to the sound is due to me having Facebook open at the same time as exporting LOL!! Theres another thread?:| i'll check it out. Thanks Robert i'm glad you liked. no, no auto tuning ever from me. it's for wimps Although it takes everything i've got to get up there (above G5 really) at this stage so its not a very open sound but maybe one day.
  17. I hadn't been on the forum for a while until a couple of days ago and i'm just getting caught up with all the goings on. I have just added this to the "MEGATHREAD" LOL! but just in case it's missed, here is my shorter version of "Child In Time". As always, all comments good or bad a fully welcomed and appreciated. Thanks for your time guys.
  18. Thanks geno, you're dead on with the performance side, it's a big challenge for me. i'm pleased you liked it sonically though. Hey ron, thanks again. You always have the right things to say i'm sure you know what its like with your own stuff it just never seems finished but soon hopefully. btw whats with all this Child in Time crazyness? I haven't been on the forum in a while but i was read bits of that huge thread! Are you gonna have a go too?
  19. Thanks ron, Olem and Jens for listening and your comments. All of your praise seems a bit undeserved to me, i'm really pleased you enjoyed it. I'm doing a few songs at a local open mic tonight so i'll add this one to the list for sure and hope it goes down as well.
  20. Thanks Simon, I wish I had a bit more control that part of my voice, but hopefully i'll get it in time.
