  1. I like Kamelot a lot so I was pleasantly surprised when the song started! I am no professional, but I think you have a really nice voice. You tend to drop off at the end of longer notes. Try to hold them all the way. At the end, you use falsetto while Roy doesn't. Have you tried it without going into falsetto?
  2. I don't particularly like christmas music and only listened to this because you have Opeth in your user name You have a really nice voice and what sounds like a bunch of experience. Everything was on key and you made both songs sound really good! As for any suggestions.. I'd say keep going and I'd be interested to hear you sing different kinds of songs.
  3. Maybe he'll see this post. Anyways, glad you liked it! The upside to posting an Icelandic song is that no one can complain about my pronunciation :P
  4. Link: www.soundcloud.com/hordurar/vor-vaglask-gi Not sure how much luck I'll have here with a foreign language, but it's worth a shot Thanks so much for listening.
  5. 'Sup, guys. Recorded this a few minutes ago, trying to do Chris Cornell justice. I just want to know whether you like it or not. If you can point out mistakes/things that annoy you, that would be great too
  6. Thanks . The original does indeed feature a falsetto in the chorus!
  7. Marco Hietala posesses one of my favorite power metal voices. It's a difficult song and I think you did well :)
  8. Hmmm... The link works for me and for those I've sent it to. Are you sure it's not something on your end?
  9. Hey guys! I've been trying to learn the guitar for a few months now. I have no real intention of becoming any good, I just want to be able to play for fun at parties and such I'm sorry there's no strumming pattern, it distracts me too much with my current guitar playing skill level . Also I just have one microphone, so that would explain the low volume of the guitar. I chose this one as it's sort of a cult favorite where I live. We had this one famous singer do this in a reality tv show in america, a while back and so the song became famous here as a result. The original has the capo on the second fret, but I went with the first fret as I liked it more that way. Plus, I have to sit down and sort of lean over the guitar to see where I place my fingers.. Resulting in a worse posture than normal There are a few words misplaced and a few might even be mispronounced. I know you're not supposed to make any excuses, but I thought you should know this before you judge me for poor posture This is more of a one take thing with me playing around. I really just want to know whether you liked it or not. By the way, I finally found a way to get rid of the buzzing noise that has plagued most of my recordings! Link: https://soundcloud.com/hordurar/dolphins-cry TLDR; Do you like it?
  10. 1. I find it pretty hard to do while trying to maintain the correct distance from the mic But I can definitely try! 2. That's easy for the verses, not so much for the chorus. It's slightly out of my comfortable range, so I end up straining a bit and having to take quick breaths. But I'll keep it in mind next time, maybe I can try and relax a bit more. 3. That's a constant work in progress Edit: Oh, and thanks for the advice :)
  11. I thought you did a good job on one of my favorite AIC songs I think Ron got it right with his comment. To add something, I feel you sometimes hold the notes a bit longer than you have to. But that's maybe just personal opinion. You have a very, very pleasant voice and I hope you upload more! Nice guitar playing and sound quality as well.
  12. I really like your voice, Super nice overall tone, vibratto and pitch! Not much I can criticize to be honest. The voice volume is a little bit low compared to the backing track. I think you would sound great on a proper recording. I'd like to hear more :)
  13. I'd like to hear you sing with a backing track. I think your voice sounded pretty good! Sorry I can't offer you any advice on singing like Adam Lambert :P
  14. I agree completely. The chorus is really high for me to sing. I need to work more on that. The high notes are much easier to sing than the high chest voice notes in the chorus!
  15. Thanks David, I agree those consonants(I googled that ) sound a bit harsh sometimes.
  16. Thanks for the comments! Unfortunately no video hehe After Soundcloud's intervention I was too angry to make a proper video and just went with the classic white screen :P
  17. One of my favorite Aerosmith songs of all time. Hope you like it! I had to upload it to Youtube because soundcloud blocked it due to a copyright infringement Which is annoying because the Soundcloud version didn't have that annoying buzzing sound. Anything you think could be improved, please comment on it!
  18. I looked for the acoustic version first, as I much prefer it to this one. Couldn't find it anywhere, so this will have to do as my guitar skills are near non existent Anything you feel like mentioning, pronunciation, pitch, etc or just general sound, please do... Doesn't have to be all technical, although any tips are appreciated as always. link: https://soundcloud.com/hordurar/dont-you-worry-child-swedish
