You are very welcome Arvind. Thanks for sharing your feelings about the TVS program, I appreciate it. ... the community here I have built. We enjoy having good people like you in our community.
This may sound funny but, do you have The Four Pillars of Singing?

Thats a good point. It is hard to really judge what you want to do, until you realistically know what you can or can't do. So really start doing it, for real, so you really know. Then you will know what you can do and we will all have more to work with to help you.

I echo Draven's comments on people learning to sing. I would say about 90% of the population CAN learn how to sing. It is a lot to do with strengthening, muscle memory, motor skills... all things that require repetition and practice. Singing is a physical sport. Get the muscles and motor skills all coordinated and "voila"! ,,,, your singing.

Yes I do.  Bought it 2 yrs ago I think.  Helped me a lot to understand concepts.  I am lazy to do exercises.  Always prefer to sing songs to scales. The community is awesome and like I said, I am both inspired and humbled to be in midst of so many great singers and coaches.  It always pushes me to do better. I am 38 years old.  I started singing when I was 34.  I have been around in these forums for nearly as long.  So yah, it has been great for me.
Kudos to you Rob and the wonderful bunch here.  I know it takes a lot of effort to set up a community like this and you are all really making the world a smaller place.

It's not terrible, it's not good, but that doesn't matter. Anyone can learn to sing. You need to decide if you want to because you want to, not based upon how you currently sound. Get a pitch training app to get you started. A big part of the problem though is that you're not actually singing, but rather trying to use speech vowels with pitch. Like I Said before, anyone can learn to sing. Do you want to? If you base your decision on whether or not you sound good before even learning how to do it, then you're going to have a very frustrating pursuit of anything.

    It is not very good.
    You need training.
You can learn to sing and become good, if you train and practice.
If you are interested in getting serious and doing that, let me know.
    Welcome to our forum.

    Hi Folks,
It has been a very long time since I posted.  I have made some jumps in my technical skills and so thought I should post a song again.  This actually I did about 2.5 years ago.  Unfortunately I don't have the older recording to do a Before-After comparison.  but the old version was around the time when I started  to learn to bridge but had still not learnt how to smoothly connect to the chest voice.  I had lot of issues then with nasality and "Quacky" sound.  I think since then I have addressed some of them.
One thing that I would like to share in my experience is how important it is for us singers to keep pushing the boundaries every single time.  When you become better in singing, it reflects not only in your ability to do tough songs at an acceptable level, but it really improves the way you can sing "simpler" songs..

Thanks Rob.  I have to give a lot of credit to "The four pillars of singing" and the amazingly talented and knowledgeable singers here who have inspired and helped me over the years.

    Hello
I'd like you to judge my voice.
Never had training but I sing for myself for 6-7 years, I like it but know my voice is amateur hehe so I've never sung in front of audience.
Write what is bad. Maybe something is good. I must make a decision.
If my voice is decent, I will do training.
If my voice is awful, I won't waste time for singing, will give up and find new hobby. Like programming xd

Aravind... I like it. Well done!
Consider paying a bit more attention to your consonants and diphthongs, but overall, it's good.
You have built a lovely voice.

Yep. thats all you have to do. "unpack it". Train, practice. Everything Cats needs is available to him, and it has been for as long as he has been posting here. If you train and do what needs to be done, instead of "winging" it, you'll get results. If you don't, you won't.
speaking of "unpacking it"... I just produced this. Its a tour of the program.
    ... good luck...

    ?
"Cats"... you are making vocal sounds that have no pitch reference at all. Further, there is little to no compression on your vocal folds, so it is a very weak, falsetto position that has no musculature activated of significance. It is a mess.
My best advise would be to work on onsets. One not at a time and work on matching pitch and getting compression on your voice. And singing some songs. I agree with Felipe, this is wasting your time.

You can work it out, Cats. Just trying to do too much at one time. Work on your pitch first. What I hear is the actual scale you're singing doesn't sound like you just completely don't know what you're doing; it's off based off the reference note you're playing, and the notes you're singing in the scale tend to trail off. Try playing the note and matching your voice to the note while the note is actually ringing out, and then record it. Then you'll be able to hear whether you can match your voice to the pitch you are hearing. Once you can do that, you can sing the scale starting from that note. And you should also be mindful of the vowel sounds you are making when you do these scales. Focus on the sounds "A" as in "Aye", "E", as in "Ee", "I" as in "Eye", "O" as in "Oh", and "Oo" as in "Ooh". Hold onto the vowel all the way through the scale.

Right now, you are focused on your voice cracking while singing notes in your head voice and you demonstrate that by performing a scale improperly, from the wrong reference pitch, while in falsetto.

You sound the same as I recall hearing you in that initial Radiohead cover you posted. I said it before, and I will say it again: Four Pillars would be wonderful for you. And this is coming from somebody who has it and sees how you can benefit. Tons of exercises. Robert does many of them, so you can actually do them along with him and perform them as he does them, just like I used to do with my vocal coach. That alone would allow you to work on pitch, strengthen your voice and help develop timbre. There are clear workflows to guide you through the delivery, step by step, which will allow you to pinpoint exactly what you are having trouble with. And then there is the section on this forum for Pillars students to help troubleshoot things further.
I think you'd be well on your way with that. Otherwise, you can still solve these problems and work on your voice, but it's much more involved. With Pillars, it's just all sitting right there in the luggage; you just have to unpack it.
But, like I said, you can work it out.

Awesome Felipe.  Singing is amazing.  But something is missing in the mix to make the track jump at you.  Maybe a touch of delay, not sure?
    Kudos..

    Thank you guys
@Robert Lunte Dio in this era was a monster, on Rising in special, its absurd!
@aravindmadis Thank you bro, I think one of the things the track is missing is Blackmore playing, the other is Dio singing  . haha but the dynamics on this track are a bit (*auto edit*) up, the guitar playing is a bit too stiff, it all sounds "harder" than it should and I ended up doing the same with the vocals. Probably a bit of delay and extra reverb could help indeed.

GREAT. Has a tiny touch of DIO in it, but more importantly, just well executed Felipe... love it. And super cool selection!  I always wanted to do this song too... Its really good.

    Hi Robert
The wait is no problem at all, I have a Smule already so here is two I think are okay, although I still think they sound like your average karaoke singer.

Here is a Coldplay cover I recorded on FL Studio with just me which I quite like but don't believe it's good enough to share as people say I can't sing.

Thank you, I've always been able to naturally do that distortion without discomfort, I do wonder if it's done in healthy way though!

    Hello Ryan,
I´ve listened to a few clips, Coldplay and James Blunt. There are some technical issues, but what is really getting in your way right now is rhythm and melody, you are kinda going blindfolded at the songs it seems.
Listen more to these songs, pay attention to the tempo of the phrasing, notice which parts the singer uses a more "connected" sound (no pause between notes), and the more rhythimic parts (strong marking to the beat, longer pauses).
Perhaps sit down on a piano or keyboard, and map the whole melody as reference. In my opinion its where you will see most improvement from what you are doing now.
For these songs you might want to get a bit lighter handed, I don´t mind the more aggressive approach but most people won´t enjoy it so much.
