  1. It depends on the singer and what how you train and take care of your voice. a operatic tenor has his prime at 50 metalsingers around 30 usually because of the heavy liestyle. Even though your technique is good now i belive it will only get better and mature until your 30 atleast Jorn lande for example got out with big bands when he was around 27 and then he had a crazy voice and still has. Im expecting something similar from you cheers
  2. I disagree, your range will most likely be on it's prime if you train your voice alot and sing, your voice will probably just be abit bigger and stronger ;)
  3. Really good, you sound like a monster and your like 18 years Old . Will be cool to see how big your voice turns out when your like 26-27
  4. I think some of the harmonies are abit off but only alittle, not something major. But man im impressed wasnt expecting this both a great song and a really cool voice Cheers
  5. Hey bro it sounds good, to me it only feels like your chickening out. Just step back and listen to your energy, as you go higher the energy and effort is to low. Your actualy lowering your energy(wich is already quite low) as you move up, try give it more effort up in the highrange and those notes will pop Cheers
  6. Wow! He nailed it... Thats some crazy shit Sergio, really good
  7. Thanks for the encouraging words Im glad it helped you. ive actualy just started to read to a tvs coach, and i have some students already who just started with me so it's very fun. Anyways congrats on that coordination, it helps with all sorts of stuff. If im havibg a bad vocalday i always fully warm that one up, instantly it feels alot better. Cheers :)
  8. All depends what you define as headvoice... The folds are adducted in that clip, so if you define adducted folds as headvoice then sure. But the soundcolor of that is rather hooty, it doesnt matter what we define the sound as (falsetto/head) but rather what that sound you just found can be used for. That specific sound you just did is really good for building the bulk of the headvoice and will in the future be something you can lean your mixedvoice towards good luck and cheers
  9. That would still just train the extremes i belive, atleast thats how it is for me. I would experiment with just adding slightly less twang(still keeping the mode) to man and sing shooting just like you did with the start of verse one. What happens if you do that?
  10. I dont see it as an issue of any sort, more like the placements are abit to extreme. Just make it slightly less twanged and slightly less backward Im not talking much, and it will keep it together more. It will keep the entire performance abit less schizo cause the song itself in it's form presents alot of soundcolors already. Add to the fact your also adding whistlevoice to this Cheers Edit: your voice is similar to mine, not in timbre or style but moreso that your voice loves the extremes of the voice. That means if you or i go for twang for instance we will usually add aaalot or if we go for more of a backwardsplacement it will be very back.
  11. Yes im talking about the verse, basicly to my ears it would sound alot better if you Kept together the soundcolor abit. Im also guilty about that very thing thats why i hear it. The area im talking about is for instance " see the blind maaaan(very twanged supernarrow) shoooting(backwards)
  12. I felt there was abit to much experimenting in this try. Not that the individual parts sounded bad, but rather that they sounded like bits and pieces from diffrent songs. Your placement and choice of twang kindo changed to much, at start you where kindo centered than all of a sudden some verybackward sounds and then all of a sudden very very supertwanged sounds for the highnotes. Then ofcourse this can be an artistic choice wich is fine, but i more got the feeling it was more due to that you hadnt quite made up your mind on what you wanted to do. edit. not talking about the screams and whistles cheers
  13. Wow!...just wow! man the pretty sing right after the diopart so tastefull got chills
  14. Your doing your nays wrong for the intention of the exercise. The nays are supposed to he supersharp and annoying, imagine your a Super anmoying kid... I mean it really overdo it, your still stuck in "singingmode" when your doing these now. By singingmode your stillsomewhere trying to "sing" or vocalize to beautiful for these exercises. Try the same and realkly overdo it. For the nays use a voice like this www.youtube.com/watch?v=pwLn_His9Yw
  15. I agree with you rob i think it sounds cool, however with labrie in mind i sometimes feel like they write very advanced and hard words that are to be sung very high up and thus there is no way it's possible to hear what words he sings at certain passages. My favourite singer daniel heiman also has some of those passages. Double edged sword :p
  16. Comeon! He's singing dreamtheatre if you Pronounce the words your doing it wrong ;)
  17. Hey bro! Nice to see you on here, ive been a secret fan of you ever since i youtubed your daniel heiman screams 3-4 years ago your technique and voice is really solid(as always) i cannot find any errors there. What i would like to hear more in your singing and what i think would get you to the next level is to get your emotional side and your interpretation skills up to the level of your voice. Perhaps try to get abit more of your own experiences and emotions mixed in with that flawless voice of yours. Ive gotten loads of great tips from various musicalteachers about this so just shoutout if you find this intresting:) never stop screaming mate and cheers
  18. Well ofc its up to you, im not gonna force anything down your troat Im not intrested in showing you technique or taking away your musicality or personal choices. What i would show you is more in terms of. 1. how to break down a song, lyrics feelings what to think about. 2. small mental things you can keep in mind wich instantly helps the end result. 3. getting you in cue with the music then we would work from a backtrack of this song me and friends recorded of this song, and if the results are desirable he will mix it for us. dont get me wrong either. Im not in on this because im a kindred nice guy that just wants to help I aspire to become a vocalcoach and i hear stuffs in your voice that i think I can bring out. I belive it will make you in class of a professional singer, to bad il never get to know. Cheers bro and good luck with your singing
  19. if you want to you can add me to skype, i can help you work this song to perfection. Ive got great experience recording, me and a friend have recorded several hundred songs skype:jensviktorjohansson
  20. Well this is also a part of my theory about this, sometimes mimicing the sound is not enough. What do we do? lol il probably write a book about this someday. Our voice reflects who we are and who we choose to be, our personalities is also reflected in our voice. There is soo mich we can change and experiment with, just to get closer to our desired sound. One if the true keys to minic a sound is understanding what type of person the one your trying to mimic is. Lets say your a supershy guy with a good voice wanting to sing dio, you think that will work out? No enviroment has to change and character needs to be changed.
  21. I heard your song, it didnt sound like fry at all. So it doesnt matter what it "is" what matters is what it sounds like. the thing is learning to completly copy a singer takes loads of time and dedication, i just dont consider that a "lesser" choice than the one's that choose to sound like "themselves" whatever that now is... Also you know im against this "fach" crap more than anyone Remember just an half year back you stated " im a hightenor il never be able to go below c3" now your doing this and more. What choices a singer makes is up to the singer no route us good or bad just diffrent. We mimiced our parents We mimic vocal exercises We mimic vowels We mimic support We mimic styles We mimic songs Then we state we should not be trying to sound like anyone else and be ourself. Instead we should know what we are, a product of our enviroment. Why is this important? Because if we change the enviroment we can pull the voice towards our goals. It is completly possible, and it's what you did... You didnt stick with the "im a tenor cant hit lows" and that gave you results.
