  1. Seems my voice is getting more powerful ... I clip the mic now at its present template and position.. So it sounds crappy.
  2. I heard this song for the first time yerterday and just NEEDED to learn it (lol) I made a backing track with a vocal remover - and yes I know it sucks, but it's what I have to work with. http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=11694714&q=hi&newref=1
  3. Best one yet bro! Great job (and much better recording).
  4. Lol I can do that part in this version there is not a metal karaoke version that I am aware of - and this one cuts off half of the second chorus :(
  5. That was all chest. And, in this song, thats fine. The first thing you need to work on is support (and warm ups of course) One can tell that you struggle to stay on pitch.
  6. Pulling chest means you are using the chest voice musculature to sing notes that are too high for you to sing in chest voice. As you ascend, you need to gradually let go of the chest voice musculature and allow the head voice musculature to be dominant (if I understand this correctly). Search the forum for bridging and head voice and I am sure that you will find a ton of threads relating to it as it is the biggest hurdle to overcome when learning to sing, and takes the klongest to master.
  7. It doenst sound right to you because you seem to be pulling chest- it sounds strained. Also, when you can't pull cheat any higher, you flip into falsetto . Your pitch seemed a little off here and there, but in a trivial amount. Get some lessons, start at the beginning. Or buy a program . I have Roberts Pillars program, and I love it.
  8. That is very interesting. Your voice seems well suited to that style singing . I like it.
  9. Thanks for listening , commenting, and debating :)
  10. Tough one, at least for me. Critique away! http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=11691624&q=hi&newref=1
  11. About YouTube "how to sing" videos: I've found that most all of them are just ways for companies to pitch their singing program to you. They give you some information, but not what you really need. Get a coach or pay for a program, you will save lots of time and frustration. From what I could hear of it, you have a good voice and good ear for pitch, but suffer from what all begginers suffer from- bridging into head voice. Roberts Pillars program is all about bridging and connecting . So, I suggest you look into that.
  12. Ron, make me a part IX from Fates Warning - off from A Pleasant Shade of Grey! Here it is:
  13. it opened twice when clicked it - thats why I heard so much delay lol. Sounds a lot better when 2 arent playing at once :)
  14. Holy crap! There is some mass delay! fun times...
  15. Pretty kewl man. Sounds great for a kitchen :)
  16. Not the greatest first attempt - Mica makes this song sound easy - it isn't. And, thanks for the backing track dude! I'll have to work on this one lol. http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=11688642&q=hi&newref=1
  17. If you have an iPhone, try "studio mini" - its real awesome ! From what I coul tell, you sound pretty good.
  18. Thanks man, that's an awesome track! Wish I had the gear to make some - I'd sit here and make most of ghost opera - prolly take me ten years :)
  19. I was thinking today how funny it is that when I sing in head voice, it sounds soooo different to me while singing it than it does when I listen to it back after recording - it's hard to gauge and calibrate things when I think my voice sounds one way, and it sounds completely different than I think it does. Anyone else with this issue?
