  1. Well, seems the "normal" state for me to be in is SICK! After todays vocal workout, I whipped these two songs off. The first is "Surrounded" by Dream Theater - to which I have never tried to song before. http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=11686513&q=hi&newref=1 the second is "All That I Bleed" by Savatage - this is my second attempt at getting this song down. Throughout both, I can be heard caughing and gagging - I am at the moment too lazy and tired to do any editing. I added a touch of verb and the wrong kind of delay to both. Ahh well. http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=11686514&q=hi&newref=1 Someone tell me all the stuff I'm doing wrong please - no sense in me pointing it out everytime :)
  2. Send me the backing track and the vocal track (separatly) as mp3's and I'll see if I can figure out how to help ya
  3. Your recordings are getting better . You sang this one well. What part were you thinking was a bit off?
  4. The good : good resonance, good tone, good articulation. The questionable : the highest notes you sing like you are unsure of them, and the vibrato is shaky on them as well. I would love to hear this with a real mic and recording software, it is hard to get a clear picture of what you are doing with this recording . You seem to hit the low notes and high notes with power, but the middle notes are soft and airy in comparison. And yes , you do have a Geoff Tate ambiance going on!
  5. That's an awesome song man! Everything was great. The recording sounds professional .
  6. I'm not a rap fan, so for me, it was great until the rapping started lol. You have a great sounding voice - I'd be trying some r&b if I were you.
  7. My passagio starts at d#. ... I tend to bring chest up to E# ish depending on what i am singing - if I only have to go as high as f(ish) I'll stay in chest - if I keep going up, I'll switch to head. I think the point is to keep the musculature for low head tones if one has to keep going up, and keep chest if you only have to go to lets say F..
  8. I took a few lessons before I purchased the pillars program
  9. The only time I sang falsetto was the highest note in the song. The rest was head voice.. So not sure what you mean
  10. Yeah, even with the mic clipping it sounded great!
  11. This song would sound friggin AWESOME if you werent clipping the mic. Remember, if you shoot too low with mic input level it can be corrected later - but if it is too high, there is nothing you can do about it later. Excellent use of falsetto. Try not ending your notes so abruply - hang on to them for a hallf a sec or so. Great job anywhooo. ~Keith
  12. Ok, here is a good example of how I forget to dampen my larnyx, you can hear me get real quacky in some of the first part, but I am able to focus and do it right in the second part (I think) . This song has lots of low head tones and high chest tones making it one hell of a workout. I only managed to hit the highest note one time at the end, I doctored the note with a lower one for the other times that I was supposed to sing it - as JL used to do when his voice was shot. I think I am getting better with stronger head tones and covering the low ones. Any thoughts? http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=11680198&q=hi&newref=1
  13. Check this out! my friends band Ire Clad - they are releasing their first cd in a few short weeks. Harrison is a very versitile singer and owns his own unique voice. Find them on Facebook, or just follow this link below for a pre release. Please notice his use of some growl vocals complete with harmonies! http://www.reverbnation.com/c./poni/113838507
  14. Holy Sh*t! Awesome. How on earth did you get his voice down so well? I swear i couldn't tell the difference between you and RJD! (and that is no small feat) I am speechless. Good for you man! I pray to the Dio God every now and then, he hasn't answered me though - just like those other Gods. :)
  15. Copy and paste yeah it's a little too high - but your tone made up for it. Dude, ya sounded just like Bruce lol.
  16. Great tone man. The "slave to the power of death" isn't sung in the proper key.. But the rest of it sounds good, and the tone of your voice is awesome. Great job bro!
  17. Sounds Kewl. I'd like to hear the whole song with a backing track . I have it if you need it. Email me if you want it.
  18. Well , that is certainly interesting. There are words in there that do not belong, or are wrong - and this makes most of the key points on that web page not make any sense... At least to me. As of yet, I am unsure of the point of your post.
  19. Thanks ron. I have just realized my need for decent studio headphones. There are some pitchy spots in here that are annoying me to death. I should try using my ear monitors next time lol
