  1. Hey you got a good sound for the low notes especially with the whisper. I haven't tried that yet, as I can usually get away with low notes being a lower VT. You want advice? Keep doing what you are doing. Unless you want to branch out and learn other styles, then do covers and imitate vocalists, that's the best way to do that. Nice work
  2. Hey I like it. Not sure why trex cant hear the vocals, they seem to be loud enough for me. Enjoy the forum..
  3. Awesome job! That's a very good clean tone you got there ;)
  4. I'm thinking about doing another soundgarden tune, but I cannot find any tracks for the one I really want to do, 'holy water'.. Seems like badmotorfinger only has two instrumental tracks floating around. Might take a shot at 'rusty cage' instead.
  5. @Jens: I agree about Jorn, great singer for sure. @jco: Thanks! I have heard comparisons to Owens and Dane before, they're both very cool vocalists. Who are you on TRP?
  6. Hey nice job. That's a pretty cool song. If you want critique let me first say add a compressor and maybe a bit of reverb to those vocals. I don't think there's anything really wrong with your vocal track here, just keep recording yourself and getting better with each song.
  7. @MDEW: yes, but don't overlook the disclaimer at the end of the video @Jens: That would be cool. I wonder when the voice reaches it's prime. 27 you say?
  8. @ronws: @Jens: What a compliment! I always wanted to be a monster. I wonder! Probably will lose a few high notes by then. @Amir: Thanks very much We're going to record the album we have soon enough. If you guys like the music and the band, here is a pre-production teaser in which we go over another song on the album.
  9. Could you change it to 'Adoney' for me? Thanks!
  10. Well I just don't want to seem egotistical or something. thanks ron! But I think I might have an awful voice with a good technique rather
  11. Thanks I was banned from this forum for saying A5's are, in fact, not parlor tricks. ;)
  12. @ronws: I suppose it's too late to change my username now I actually made this username on any site I joined since I was 12, not to be smug, but because 'lord' and 'adon' are synonymous words. @MDEW: Now I can get caught up in debate with terminology semantics again (just kidding)
  13. I started posting covers on TRP and my own forum while I was banned from this site, but I will share this here too. My most recent vocal cover. My wave as sung by a bass-baritone. Let me know what you think! https://app.box.com/s/nkhqwy4xdgu5z13qdoj6 So obviously I have a slightly lower range.. The sound I made here was notably different than Cornell's, but I really want to get those awesome screams he does, so this was good practice. It's a tricky thing. :)
  14. Hey guys. Looks like the ban hammer was lifted? Well, I missed it here! So check out my band with Van Williams (ex nevermore) and Matt Wicklund (god forbid, himsa) That's pre-production.... Home studio stuff. Album coming soon :)
  15. If you're trying to get all that can be out of a cover, sometimes a little bit of 'copy cat' is required. That is, after all, how humans acquire ALL of their skills and knowledge, starting from the first words. But I was just offering some review/critique, weather taken or not it doesn't bother me. Keep it up.
  16. Well I think Ian correctly captured the emotion in the original song... Everything from the verses to the screams sounds very dramatic. Few covers, in my opinion, can actually be better than the originals. So I don't think you have to worry about doing that... But still, there's a lot of room for improvement. Every time I do a cover I try to study the originals, every embellishment of the original singer, as close as my memory will allow... Then re-create as close as possible. That's the only way to really do justice without completely re-working the song.
  17. Sounding pretty good for the most part, Lunte! Some of the melody changes were really interesting. The tonality on the verses is pretty good though could use a bit more of that 'sensual' dynamic Ian uses if you know what I mean. The tonality on some of the higher notes is a bit unsure sounding though. Ian uses a lot of force for those, and gets pretty piercing live. Also, I noticed you left out the chorus's climax with the high A5. Man, that's the money note!
  18. @ElWin Yeap thats me And the bass disappearing was an editing glitch... I didn't look over the video before exporting lol! No :| @MDEW Have to be careful around box fans @geno I've been eager to make a video for a while as I have a camera and a small sheet of green fabric.... I got the idea for the video a few days ago spontaneously. Unfortunately, I'm not skilled enough at video editing to edit a nice explosion and bloody splatter when the microwave starts, but that would be ideal! So I filmed it one night in a few hours and edited it all together the next morning! @Ronws are you sure? Four people had to fit in that microwave...
  19. You might have heard this... But you haven't seen it yet!
  20. Thanks guys From what people have told me, Blabbermouth is generally pretty harsh in their comments. But I definitely think all that skepticism will lead to more interest, hehe. But check it out guys, I have had some positive responses. This article [ http://www.metalinjection.net/latest-news/former-current-members-of-arch-enemy-god-forbid-nevermore-form-ghost-ship-octavius ] even compared me to russel allen! @Validar: I agree, and people kind of overlook the musicians that started young in their career for some reason. @MDEW: I'll try to :)
