  1. Hey guys. I'm probably not going to be putting in much forum time anymore. It's likely I'll be preoccupied with a few things. But never mind that, here's a new original I just finished. And also, I'm in a new 'supergroup' with some members of other metal bands you may know. http://www.blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=191902 Check out that post if interested! Let me know what you think.
  2. You sound a bit unsure on the higher bits, like you are reaching for them. Perhaps just me, but if not, you might want to mind that.
  3. This might be my favorite original of yours that I have so far heard. Awesome stuff.
  4. I haven't tried that yet. I'd have to find a song I can do in one take perfectly!
  5. Nice dio cover! You have the high range for this stuff, awesome job!
  6. I really like the 'just to know your alive' tone, you should milk that tone for everything! Great work!
  7. Indeed he does! Added a lot to them spaghetti westerns I'll tell ya. There are a lot of songs I like from him!
  8. Huge Ennio Morricone fan  , but I must critique the vocals, the notes aren't well sustained They sound a bit thin and shakey... They need to be solid and pure.
  9. Thanks analog. It is tiring up high indeed, but it gives a nice sound! I have to use a lot of diaphragm to keep it up high, haha. But it doesn't hurt at all, just analogous to weight lifting pretty much.
  10. You are right, they are all the same level of difficulty... This is because the position at which you set your expectations changes with respect to how well you can sing the song. If you decide to tackle a song hat's too hard, you don't expect the same outcome. I think listening back changes that, because I have listened to this cover enough to become unsatisfied with the sound. Thanks Ron I was thinking of doing 'hurt' with my bass voice, but didn't want to have to record guitars :/ @Forest: I have a full voice recorded range of Eb1-E5 and people say you cannot drag chest past a certain point before you are MIXING at least... I have never felt mixing or head voice or anything like that, but maybe I am using it.... If so, then my problem maybe just the sound I am getting... Maybe the sound isn't piercing enough to make me satisfied. I don't know, it's beyond my knowledge what my voice is doing, I just sing.
  11. Thanks guys this song is crazy hard to sing! I like doing these songs that are uncharted territory for voice, branches out a bit... good way to improve IMO. Now I go back to maiden songs and they're cake! (some of em, mind you) ;)
  12. Haha yes but it's easy to get worn out singing this song!
  13. You have to close the throat, but not too much, just a bit! Thanks! :D
  14. Last time I'm doing this, I swear. Was good practice indeed! This one has the vocals a little more buried, better clean vocals, and a slightly better scream at the end. Lemme know what you think! https://www.box.com/s/oy4fpsngf4an192rce5x
  15. Hey, try opening your throat more and not singing too much in your nose.
  16. Jens: It's different for each person. I personally grown on compliments. I have a friend who grows on critiques. Either way, a mix of the two is always best.
  17. Jens it's not impossible to sing when 14. I have recordings when I was 15, and I started at 14. He can very well learn and should be treated so. :|
